Yea and we were terrible on our way to finishing 4th. But we also reached the champions league final so there’s that.

Mou was nowhere near.
Agreed. Most of our points that season we had gotten by february. After that it was 11 points in 12 matches . That form was relegation material, yet we beat Dortmund, City, Ajax in those same months.

If only we had sacked Poch before the CL final and got mason to take over.

Pro-ENIC lot:

Spurs get to CL final and finish 2nd/3rd in the league - Levy's doing

Everything that goes wrong - Manager and players fault. "Ah well Levy didn't pick the side" "Levy didn't do the handball " etc.

I don't mind giving credit if there is acknowledgement of his failures as well.
Yeah it’s when the levy lovers say “Jose is a dinosaur” & then when levy appoints him…. Serial winner! Well done levy!
Just twist how they view things to match up with levys.

Context is important. Your point isn’t as smart as you think it is.

If Mourinho had racked up enough points to basically guarantee 4th by February and reached a CL final then it would have been outrageous to sack him. Especially after 4 years of consistent progress.

I want to see him back Conte in the next window and give him whatever he needs to make this side a title challenger or at least to challenge for any kind of silverware.

That's what Conte wants, he has repeated it numerous times, he wants to win trophies so we know what the situation is as supporters, let's hope Levy and ENIC know it.

We are not there yet. We still have to get a point at Norwich to secure UCL football but they are the worst side in the Prem so it’s totally on us.

We were awful through Halloween.

We brought in Conté. Importantly, with enough time to turn the ship around. He did. Not without a stumble or two but here we are.

As importantly, and I’ve said this several times before, we were the only club fighting for 4th who did anything in January.

West Ham. Nothing.
Man Utd. Nothing.
Woolwich. Nothing.
Wolves. Nothing.

Would we be in this position without those moves?
Yet a large number of the agenda driven posters on this thread were pissing and moaning about our January outcome.

You could just as easily say would we be hoping for a Newcastle win against Woolwich in the 2nd last week of the window if we had addressed our needs fully in the January window or the summer window. Would we be hoping to show up against Norwich if we had a competent RB, a goal scoring threat other than Kane and Son, a MF that didn't have Winks as a key piece.

This is the issue with the Levy apologists they are so small minded they focus on tiny pieces to defend Levy ignoring the big picture.

Exactly that. Finally properly back a good manager when we have one.
My worry is that soon as we get in to a position of strength, we standstill & then act shocked when we slip back down.
We need to move forward & not settle.

The battle for 4th was very weak & it’s levy/enics fault we relied on favours from others to scrape past what is a average Woolwich for 4th.
We should have really been getting 4th comfortable.
If the levy fans don’t think we should be finishing above this average Woolwich then it shows how much they have lowered there standards. If they think we should, then we are doing what we should be doing anyway.

Yes they always ignore what matters & the bigger picture as they will always lose this argument. So focus on small less significant stuff instead.

Sorry but why should we have gotten 4th comfortably?
Woolwich spent about 150m last summer and United spent about 125m and brought in 3 big names including arguably the greatest player of a generation.
But, yeah, we should have got 4th comfortably.

This Levy obsession from some fans is extraordinary, watching the Woolwich capitulate last night was absolutely beautiful yet some people feel compelled to log on to the internet to complain Spurs didn’t spend enough money in January.

As I’ve said on here so many times modern football fans are a peculiar bunch. They have no understanding of the game and take comfort in moaning about an imaginary bad man

The battle for 4th was very weak? We are at 68 and likely to finish on 71. Woolwich will finish at 69, 67, or 66.

Going back several years

2021- 67 points (4th), 66 (5th)
2020- 66, 62
2019- 71, 70
2018- 75, 70
2017 - 76, 75
2016 - 66, 66

So in the last 6, basically the race for 4th was tougher than 3 seasons, weaker than 2, and equal to 1. So it was same as always, not weak as you say. And 2015 is weaker as well in case you think I chose a convenient stopping point.

That’s called actually using data to make an argument and not just blindly spouting an agenda.
