I think we will get a couple of goals, it is how many we concede I am worried about. It is time to leave out Rose, Toby and Eriksen completely.
Anyway, I have some faith in these players and Poch again. Obviously, I would like us to win but we need a performance more than anything. Strangely, because everyone else has been so shit, we are not out of the top 4 talk completely. I also don't think Leicester or Chelsea will be able to maintain their form. Indeed, I thought we were the better team against Leicester.

Gazzaniga
Aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
Dier Winks
Lamela Ndombele Son
Kane

Most important thing is that Toby, Rose and Eriksen remain out of the starting XI. From now on we need to rely on players with a future at Tottenham and nobody else.

The performance against Red Star was excellent but they were a feeble opponent, we won’t get away with that midfield away at Liverpool. If we can go with a more solid midfield and the same intensity of performance then we can give them a game.

Only change is make is dele for dier.

Push n'dombele further forward and then you have a more solid looking midfield.

Lamela should start as his work rate is great and between him , son and Kane we should offer a goal threat with n'dombele pulling the strings.

Considering how Liverpool seem able to grind out wins even when playing badly combined with our current league form I will be happy with a draw, that we do not embarrass ourselves at minimum

Winks will slow any momentum moving forward with speed , zip and creativity.
The team should be largely based on last nights ( even if red star were poor) as its only time we have shown any fluidity and any sustained threat .

Let's revisit that in a bit.
Our next 4 games in EPL -
Liverpool away
Everton away
Sheffield home
West Ham away

I can feel bit calmer after yesterdays win and performance, but our last away win is from 20th Jan.
I would not be surprised slightest if after that run it will remain to be so.

IF (luckly this is IF as of now) this actually happens, we will most likely be ~9-10 points off top 4 instead of current 5. And this would be heck of a gap to bridge. Hopefully I am overly negative though.

I'd go with last night's team and formation again, though Dele and Lamela will have to do a lot more defending. And Aurier better not be shit again.

However, I fully expect at least Alderweireld and Rose to make returns.

Juan Foyth to play I think:
A lot of people are underestimating this emerging champion!
He is now a regular international first team pick and yet not in Spurs side
Just shows how good he really is.

What I would like to happen

Liverpoo get a goal wrongly disallowed by VAR
We get a last minute penalty controversially awarded by VAR. Kane's spot kick is saved, but VAR again rules that the keeper came off his line and awards a re take which Kane buries in the top corner. Klopp has a full on mental breakdown and the scousers riot in Liverpool causing £400million worth of improvements. Then take off and chase any ambulances they see within a 100 mile radius of the centre of Liverpoo

Some People getting carried away with last nights result.
This going to be a mauling. We are going to be bent over, trousers down, and penetrated. Bummed.

good luck to anyone going to the complete shit House of a city. Awful place, awful people. Hooked and obsessed on grief.

Part of Liverpoo's success is the feeling of inevitability that they will win, something only really associated with the Harlem Globetrotters and the All Blacks. Except they are every bit as susceptible to defeat and off days as anyone else.

Put it like this, had we gone into the CL final with the belief we could go a goal down early on and come back and win, we could and should have won the trophy. Instead, there was a feeling "Oh shit, that's us done, it's Liverpish and we're not coming back".

Get stuck into the bastards and let them worry about us. Treat them like every other team and keep the faith even if we go a goal down.

And if Liverpoo have another off day, don't sit back and let them play in front of us or fail to get the ball forward. Get stuck in and have a go. Who knows, we could get royally humped, but we could also reignite our season and really dent those bastards'

They behave like a bunch of cultists, probably has something to do with why they love rampant socialism and are mostly Labour.
Don't think its any coincidence their kit is full red if you catch my drift.

Last time I went there in the late 90's when we got done with a late Michael Owen pen - dive of course. they had shards of glass and nails concreted on top of brick walls, and every house had a window out. the place is an utter tumour on the butt crack of humanity. No wonder the football team is a religion.

If we set up like we did in the CL, we will struggle.

Our midfield is so light and goes missing that we would struggle to get involved.

Winks is most likely back in the squad and he roles out a version of the diamond again.

:pochcry:

Get all narrow in a 41212 and they'll kill us 2 v 1 on the flanks whilst our front 3 would get suffocated centrally. Match them position for position or we will struggle. Ergo 433.

We have a day's extra rest; plus they will have travelled so fuck rotation (apparently our boys have a day off today too).

Gaz
SA / DS / JV / BD
Winks / Dier / Ndombele
Lamela / Kane / Son

Not getting carried away after red star. A draw and Klippety left gurning will be a good day's work.

Not sure I will be able to watch this.

My hatred of Klopp is so monumental, I can’t physically stand to watch him. His fucking gurning and arms flailing.

Without doubt the biggest cunt in world sport.

I agree, we are just not out of it completely. I don't see any team apart from City and Liverpool being better than us. If, and yes a big if, we can sort our selves out over the rest of season there is hope.

we rarely get a result at anfield so I'm not expecting much. I hope we can hold it together though as I think the player confidence is fragile and if we lose an early goal or 2 it could be a truly disgusting afternoon.
