I appreciate the creativity from this team here. Just should have been a shot to goal.

I'm not mad at him trying to square it. I actually think it was the right thing to do. The execution was just all wrong.

You have to remember who the player is in that situation. Hojbjerg lacks confidence at the best of times, even more so in forward areas. I am betting that going for goal in that situation didn't even cross his mind. Secondly even if he did go for goal, he's back pedalling and I don't think he could have generated enough power in the header to score.

The square option was right for me, it just wasn't executed correctly.

Also, if head have gone for goal and missed, people would be screwing at him for not trying to pick out Kane.

Some peeps always have to have a scapegoat....

Same as the "Emerson lost us the win by putting in a poor cross" narrative.... As if they were otherwise dead cert goals!

Neville oblivious to the fact that Man Utd aren’t relevant any more, believing they can pick and choose whichever manager they want. Beggars can’t be choosers, mate. Hope Ten Hag does as good a job as Rangnick managed.

Not sure if Liverpool were well under-par or if we just played really well overall.
A lot of pundits saying Liverpool were below par, but I didn't see that. Although it didn't quite 'click' for them in the final third, their pressing was even more aggressive than I've seen in most other games this season, it's like they were all on coke throughout the first half. That was probably the best half of pressing I've seen from any team in any competition this season. For us to keep our composure, throw our bodies in the way where necessary, not concede a penalty, and of course most crucially not concede a goal in that half was exceptional for me.

Still 1-1.

Positives: We turned up. They only scored a very, very lucky goal. Kulu is so class. If it stays like this, 4th is still on.

Negatives: Royal can't cross or pass for shit. Really mind-blowing how bad he is. Also, Sess isn't good enough (despite assist, which was bread and butter). I really want him to come good, but the basics aren't there.
I don't know what game you watched not it wasn't the same as I did that's for sure.

such a tired response these days. No offence, but it adds nothing.

Royal defended well, but is a black hole in attack. He is only comfortable in our half.
Sess has one good attacking moment, but otherwise the same could be said of him.

I would rather have aurier and doc. That’s insane.

I think the fact you know he will misplace the cross before he does it makes it worse

Yet before the game everyone was petrified that they'd get rinsed by Mane/Robertson and Salah/TAA all game.

That didn't happen. They stepped up.

Wrong day to get on their backs.

Agree. Both are not up to task.

I don't care that Sess managed to square a ball ten yards to Son. He was timid and poor in possession as usual.

Emerson did well defensively but he can't make the simplest of crosses and that will not work in a system where wingbacks are so important.

If we manage to sign two decent wing backs on either side this summer we will literally be a team transformed.

What exactly is hard to get ?

If Woolwich team have your thinking, they would have waving the white flag long time ago.
They lost their easy matches against Palace, Brighton and Southampton. 3 in a row.
But then they beat Chelsea, United and West Ham, matches not much people expecting them to even get points off. Yet they won them all 3, and that's how they get in front of US.

Do you need any more example like this ???
If they were following your point and advice to just give up, after losing to Palace, Brighton and Southampton, their chance for CL football would be long gone.
I've never once said "give up" anywhere

He was solid defensively but once again offered nothing going forward.

I'm not sure you understand the remit of a wingback if you think that is playing well.

In the context of the game(***) & how we were set up; he did well.

(***especially the fan fears here before the game; that he & Sess would get destroyed by their attack)
