Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

All good. His current contract doesn't expire until 2029 but £15k for a player of his talent is clearly insufficient.
According to some lad on tik tok, he's the lowest paid first team player in our squad (the video is in the other teams transfer thread). He ran through the entire league and there were some surprises in it. Ait-Nouri at Wolves is on less per week than Bergvall.

He has 4 years left on his current deal so even if he gets a 5 year deal it’s worth it as the power is with Levy right now. Might as well take the cash you can. He is only 19 so worst comes to worst if he wants to leave he leaves at 24.

Glenn Hoddle tips Tottenham star Lucas Bergvall for ‘frightening’ future

Hoddle, speaking on TNT Sports, noted how Bergvall has shown considerable improvement in less than one full season, saying young players can often take two seasons.

The Tottenham legend then backed Bergvall to be absolutely “frightening” as a player when he gets closer to his prime of around 23 or 24 years of age.

“For me the most important thing is he’s been thrown in, he’s had to be thrown in in half the games, but mentality-wise, he’s more than coped with it,” said Hoddle.

“And it’s just going to grow and grow. When he’s 24, what’s he going to be like?

“He’s learnt so quickly. Some people take two seasons to grow and they progress and they improve.

“He’s improved in such a quick time. So what he’s going to be like when he’s 23, 24… he’s going to be frightening.”

What Alasdair Gold has noticed about Lucas Bergvall behind the scenes

Bergvall had a tricky start to life at Tottenham, but he now looks well suited to life in English football after showing remarkable improvement.

Football.london’s Alasdair Gold recently spoke of how he’s been noticing Bergvall looking bulkier every time he sees him, suggesting he’s putting the hours in at the gym.

Speaking on Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, Gold claimed: “He’s turning into a big lad as well, I watched the footage of the players coming out the tunnel and he is properly bulking up.

“Every time I see him he looks a little bit stronger and stronger and I know Ange said it’s because he keeps following Deki (Kulusevski) in the gym.

“But it’s impacting his play as well, he’s so much stronger on the ball. He’s going to be one of the first names on the team sheet going forward.”

He might just turn it down or have a clause inserted. If I were his agent I might insist on that.
Think that's probably the reason for quintupling his wages, as opposed to doubling with the promise of further incremental uplifts each year if things are going well.

Want him tied down for 6 years on wages of ~£50k? Release clause.

Want him tied down with no release clause? £85k.

Maybe sneak in a gentleman's agreement...

What's he gonna be like in 5 years? Pfft, think shorter term than that, what's he gonna be like when he has a proper coach taking charge of him!

Still early days, but the kid has shown elite mental attributes, which is impressive for a 19yo living away from his homeland & family unit. Comes to London, the PL, earns good money...many would've lost their heads. But this kid just bloody loves football and wants to get better every day, so he puts his head down and works hard.

And he's got the tekkers and physicality already.

Give him a manager that's great at developing young talent, that's gonna teach him about positioning, decision-making...my oh my what a superstar we'll have in our ranks.

Obviously shows signs of being technically very gifted, can hit a mean shot too, but his tenacity and physicality in the midfield is really impressive and surprising at this age.
Can't quite put my finger on why but some things he does remind me of Yaya Toure.

looks very much like he's going to end up being elite, hopefully Gray get's time on Sunday in midfield ahead of bissouma and i assume a rested bentancur

bet levy can't wait to sell them both for record fees a few years from now
