Bergvall and Vuskovic in consecutive seasons is exactly where we should be aiming (elite talents at outliers). To fill where the academy has elite talent gaps.
Sarr and Udogie similar just not as prodigious, cheap, or quite as young.
We have been rolling the dice on potential elite youngsters, and succeeding in signing them often against competition from the likes of Barca, Bayern, & our PL rivals, much more frequently in recent seasons. Paratici's networks often seem to be involved in identifying these players, probably through his contacts with agents, as it must be harder for data analysis to accurately assess them.
Bergvall and Vuskovic look like inspired signings.
Udogie & Sarr are both probably worth double what we paid for them, and have the potential to become even better.
I think Kinsky is an outstanding signing, and Archie Gray, Tel, Odobert and Yang all have big seasons ahead of them.
But it is swing and miss. We rolled the dice on Bryan Gil and Veliz, and neither worked out for us. It's never going to be a 100% success rate.
It's also important t hat we continue giving opportunities to our best young players like Mikey Moore, and developing the likes of Donley, Devine, Phillips & Abbott so they can maximise their potential.
