Used the Match Chat thing for a couple of games now. Shall we keep it or just use the normal match threads in the forum?

Honestly, I find it an interesting social experiement (real time reaction from a larger group), but a more frustrating one when it comes to getting different perspectives on the match. There's more knee jerking and the level of discussion seems to be much lower as a result of the throwaway aspect of the chat. That said, there's more participation than in the match threads. I could go either way but at this point I think I'd bin it.

To me, the knee-jerking is still at a level lower than that of twitter. The match chat has taken the place of twitter, while providing a certain, higher level of signal to noise. Furthermore, the match thread is frustrating in how not real-time it is (doesn't auto-refresh, at least not for me).

On the other hand, the enhanced real-timeness of the chat frustrates streamers (who have goals spoiled, etc.), and there's no way to collect rep for bons mots. Once we'll be able to sell rep on here for bitcoins, that will matter.

The knee jerking that goes on is ridiculous and it's more pleasurable to read back through a match thread.
Transfer deadline day was fun though, for things like that it's brilliant.

Two great points. During the Newcastle game I was shitting myself a couple of times because there was a delay in my stream and people were writing "FUCK" about a corner kick.
