Ex-Spurs Player Matt Doherty

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m so gutted for Matt, for the first time since he joined Spurs he’s been thriving in his preferred role, playing well and enjoying his football with a smile on his face.

I hope he recovers well and comes back stronger next year, we need him

Curse you Matty Cash and the ref!

Conte seems to like the idea of Stevie B as a Striker so I’d be surprised, but if he feels he could do a job there then needs must. For now I think he’ll stick with Emerson

I think that Lucas as wing back is more likely right now.

He can probably pull off similar off the ball runs that Matt does.

Terrible news, both for the player and the team. We are going to miss him.

Hopefully the return of our two left footed wing backs will at least compensate for Emerson being in the team for the rest of the season. Shame we don’t have the option of Tanganga either.

Drat and double drat, what bad luck. We are going to miss him so badly, never thought I'd type that a few months ago, his turnaround was quite outstanding.
The BBC didn't even show the tackle!
Get well soon Matt.

Bit gutted for him. Its taken so long to get any sort of run and find some form and then this. Sad thing for him is by the time he's fit we'll hopefully have a definate first choice RWB signed.

Conte really likes him and has praised him heavily in the last week, so he’ll get his chances next season especially if (all going well) we have European football. We’ll need to rotate the squad with additional games

Poor sod, on the receiving end of one of the many over aggressive Villa tackles yesterday. Could just as easily have been Kane or Deki facing a long spell out.

On the plus side, he's made a big contribution in the last few games. And I think Emerson will do enough as his replacement. Playing in front of Romero is a lot easier than playing in front of Sanchez. So he should fare better in the current side. We lose a bit going forward, but he'll be decent I think.
