Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I was watching this dicussion with Gustavo Poyet and it's very interesting. I'm posting it here because he talks about players needing to be tense enough to compete but relaxed enough to play and that they should enjoy their football like when they first got into the game, which is something we hear again and again from Pochettino (about minute 10).

Where does throwing shit at the dressing room wall fit into this theory of his? :dembelelol:

I have just started the book and one thing that has stood out for me about 30 pages in is the part the hotel in Australia last pre season when the Malaysian lawyer fan who travels to watch ustold him how grateful he was to Pochettino for the transformation and that one thing that made him proud was how he cried could at the Bridge 2-2 draw. It wasn’t the expected result but how the team showed how much it hurt not to win which for him signified a change in history not just in recent terms but over the last 30-40urs.
Pochettino invited him to the training ground to talk to the players about those group values he appreciated so much from such a distance and explain to them what their behaviour on the pitch means to people young and old who live in other countries. Sometimes these things aren’t valued enough.
