Fergie wasn't a genius at Utd for 5yrs! In fact probably took at least another 5yrs before anyone utter the word. The other thing that is absolutely certain, no one called him a winner in his first five seasons.Ferguson’s last great team in that aforementioned era featured Ronaldo, Evra, Vidic and Park acquired for relative peanuts and supplemented by a raft of youth graduates, from the class of 92 to the likes of Brown, Fletcher, O’Shea and Welbeck. When he did spend, it was generally on players who needed United and Ferguson to facilitate their development into elite players like Rooney, Ferdinand and Carrick - players who’s big fees were vindicated by 12/13 years service. Ferguson was a genius and a winner - he shares a lot with Pochettino, in terms of player development, but Mauricio seemingly lacks that capacity to win.
Even with the opposition spending vulgar amounts of money, I still think Spurs’ current first 12/13 players are as good as any of those aforementioned teams, and should have put a few pots in the cabinet by now, especially considering Leicester and Chelsea have with vastly inferior teams in Pocchettino’s tenure.

in his first six seasons Utd were 4th, 11th, 2nd, 11th, 13th, 6th .... a run that would get any manager fired today.
