Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I noticed that after Woolwich match (even though he had not been on pitch for long), he still got the handshake/hug from Poch so don't think he has been blown out.

Sometimes we'll have our hand forced. Even teams like Dortmund can't keep all their talent, despite how many cups they might win, how amazing their fans are, or how dazzling their football can be.

So long as there's never an exodus, and we reinvest the money on exciting young potential, then I don't know what more we could do. If Walker is hell bent on leaving, then you don't want the dressing room poisoned.

Though this does feel rather abrupt in a "Boss, I don't like the weather" email on FIFA kind of way.
The example to Dortmund is a good one, there are other clubs in Europe too that trade well to compete. However, I don't want to do what Dortmund do and sell to a direct rival to make them stronger whilst weakening your/our position. The only way this makes sense is if player X is valued £30m on the open market but you sell £70m to that rival if you get my drift. But the fan in me will only see the fact that we have strengthened a rival. (ManU offered us more for Bale, but we didn't take that money because it would strengthen them and weaken us, my fingers are crossed that this attitude is still with us).

The Dortmund comparison doesn't really fit for me.

The PL TV money means even as a start all clubs in the league don't need to sell. Secondly Dortmund are based in a really poor area, they can sell loads of tickets - but it's the same as Newcastle or Sunderland do.

It's all relative though. Palace earn shit loads but are even further behind Man U than they were last year. We earn shit loads of money but are even further behind all of the 5 clubs above us financially, we are further behind not closer, the gap is bigger now (Last year) that it had ever been. If we couldn't compete before the new TV deal, we sure as hell cant now. Although I do appreciate all PL teams can in theory afford not to sell to European clubs as that have been elevated above them.

get in there Butch!...Now i'm no fan of Ray but superb stuff.

"you have no football knowledge" : spot on ray spot on.

Yeah, that Custis is a cunt, he was on MOTD2 extra after the semi-final, he couldn't contain his excitement at us getting beat...can't stand him.

Edit:Wrong Custis...it was Shaun not Neal...they both work for the scum though so it still applies...

A journo working for a trash rag, asking an ex-Professional footballer who has won Honours, Trophies and England Caps; "...and who are you?" just about sums up the contempt the (non ex-footballer) Media in General holds over the ex-footballers in media!

There are plenty of pundits around who can't let their ex-club allegiances go, and consistently show bias towards their former clubs (and SKY seem to hire most of them!) But this isn't just about favouritism towards an ex-club, there is a definite divide between the Media who once were players, and those who were most definitely not!

Make no mistake, there is a bitterness coursing through the written/tv Football press that can't stand the fact that ex-players muscle in on their turf and get well paid work within their industry, and yet they have never been able to enjoy the riches the accompany 'merely kicking a ball about'...

THAT'S where the bitterness stems from IMHO!

Can't stand either but Custis is a massive cunt.
Trying to be fair for a moment, I can understand why Custis is pissed because they have phoned him up to be a guest on the show to get his opinion on football, only to then have his football knowledge questioned. That would fucking piss me off, it's also plain rude.

Custis though always makes it about him, he is an aggressive bastard and is constantly getting involved in ridiculous arguments where he always ends up looking like a complete tit.

To be fair, TalkShite spends every other day of the week riling their 'valued listeners' to the point where they phone-in and pay their wages!
I'm pretty sure Custis knew what sort of 'Talk Show' he was going to participate in!

TalkSport and The Sun are now brother and sister companies, put together by their demigod Mckenzie, so yeah of course he does, he's been on many times because of this very relationship.

But it's absurd to phone up someone, to ask their opinion on football to then be accused you know nothing about football. That in it's self is disrespectful, the fact it's Custis, one of the most despised football "journalists" that allows Wilkins to get away with it. Wilkins argument is ridiculous, he claims he "knew where the ball was going" which of course he didn't, it's this that starts Custis off. The rest is Custis being Custis an aggressive self obsessed wanker.

But the winner here of course is Murdoch, more clicks, more calls, more listeners, more dosh.

Wilkins saying that you cant comment if you've never played the game did irk me i must admit.

But fuck Talk Shite and fuck The Scum.

Both trolls of the highest order, the most blatant attempt one evening this week from the ginger twat and the fat twinkle toed cricketer. Both saying that Judas should get an invite to the WHL leaving party.

It did not end well.

arnt most Dortmond -> Bayern transfers due to players being at the end of their contracts?

I don't know to be fair, I don't follow zee German footie closely. But to say that would suggest that Bayern are doing Dortmund a favour?? I was always under the impression, from the media, that Bayern basically took their best players to keep them in their box.
no but Dortmund have no say in the matter so if our players act like Lewandowski (free run down his contract) or Gotze (realease clause had no choice) they have not chosen to sell to their rival for a long time - Bayern do what man u used to improve themselves while weakening rivals.

Some topical good old fashioned media bias, listen to the commentary......"OH NO!!"

I remember that being a topic of heated debate about Commentators letting their guard slip at crucial moments!
There's not one shred of excitement conveyed about us winning that game... only sheer (but you have to say honest) disbelief that (I assume) his team had lost!

Shame... coulda done with a similar ending last night, eh?
