I didn’t think he was capable of performances like this one and the 2nd half at Brighton, but I think we have to adjust our expectations for him.

He’s still a young player without much elite experience and unfortunately he is showing that he can easily lose composure like a typical Tottenham player. Both the first goal against Brighton and the Palace goal would have been prevented if he’d simply kicked the ball away. Hopefully he develops quickly and can get this panicky shit out of his system.

Yeah not too worried because he’s built up plenty enough equity but that might’ve been his worst performance in a Spurs shirt.

That’s not really an excuse for him failing to get his feet sorted out when he has to clear.

Elite players should stand out even when surrounded by lesser ones. Luka Modric never had to have excuses made for him despite him having Jenas and Palacios around him. VDV can and must do better.

Regardless of his performance today he's pretty much the only player in the squad I look at now and think world-class talent.

There are problems, sure, but we need to wrap this guy in cotton wool and surround him with the right people to learn from.

Dier did a lot of really great pointing and shouting while Bayern were getting pounded by Barca earlier this week. To his credit though he did manage to finish without needing to excuse himself to take a shit.

Against City it was justified, we needed a more defensive approach and he was rested last week. Unfortunately shit happens.

Though the timescale on days missed has shortened every single time.

First one in 2022 for Wolfsburg, he was out for 78 days and missed 14 games.

Second one last year he missed 54 days and 12 games.

Third one earlier this year he missed 18 days and 4 games.
