No, but obviously we were pressing more than any other side earlier in the season. I think Son’s struggle’s are more than just purely physical though. Personally I think asking him to stay wide and beat fullbacks has dented his confidence. He just can’t get the same separation he used to. Ideally these days, he’d be best suited to playing off a CF and being more of a poacher I think.

I agree he’s not best suited to being a wide forward but then again, what’s Salah? Is he really a winger? Don’t Liverpool play a 3 up there?

And if Son can only play SS off a 9, that means we need to play 4-4-2. Can you really build a whole system around a 32 year old player?

Difference is that Salah is so strong and difficult to dispossess. Even when he’s not taking people on, he keeps the ball. He more of a wide playmaking forward these days. Sonny’s tried to become that a bit too with those outside of the foot passes. He’s just so easy to push off the ball atm.

Again, agree. And again I don’t really get why. Son is bigger than Salah and could probably squat more weight.

Salah is way way stronger than Son. I feel like I have to caveat everything negative about him with fans and I love the guy but he was never the player Salah was or is today sorry.
No comparison whatsoever and pointless to try.

His strength to weight ratio is better. That’s more relevant. I suspect he’s also got better stamina. Which will help him recover quicker from sprints. Make them run a 5k and I’ll bet my house Son loses that race.

Salah is very much a real winger, and a real foward. He does whatever he wants. I know we've all seen him juke 4 consecutive of our players in the box en route to a goal. It's hard to think of anyone else who has done that to us in the Prem.

What’s the point in having this guy. If you want success as a football club you need centre backs that will play consistently.

If he has another injury plagued season next year then it’s time to relegate to a back up or sell… as good as he is, you can’t build anything with a centre back constantly getting injured

Lets see how injury prone he is when playing under a manager that doesnt insist on him being involved in sprint races every 5 ninutes.

He did the hamstring at Wolfsburg. An incredible talent that might just never reach his potential because of his injuries.

His game is very based on his speed. His recovery defending is brilliant but his marking isn’t the best. He can obviously improve this aspect because he is young. If he can’t use his speed because of his hamstrings then he ain’t much use. I dont think he’d be that good in a low block team.

If I were him I'd be looking for a way out.

Got a promising international career as well.

All being incinerated on the alter of nonsense football devised by a clown.
