Think players also need to own their habits.

Not saying VDV doesn’t have elite habits but the elite players just don’t get hurt,

They know their body, the sleep like a machine, eat meticulously and spend huge money on their own recovery protocols on top of what the club prescribes.

It IS a matter of how bad the player wants it too.
It's not the simple metric you make out...You know who else does all you suggest.....

Emerson Royal

Participants were randomized in a double-blind placebo-controlled fashion into two groups: MSM (M) (N.=9) and placebo (P) (N.=9). Subjects consumed daily either placebo (200 mL water) or MSM supplement (50 mg/kg MSM in 200 mL water) for 10 days. Afterward, participants ran 14 km. Blood samples were taken before supplementation, before exercise, immediately, 30 min, 2, 24 and 48 h after exercise. CK and bilirubin significantly increased in P group 24 h after exercise compared to M group (P=0.041 and P=0.002, respectively). TAC increased immediately post, 30 min, 2 and 24 h after exercise just in M group (P<0.05). TAC showed significant increase in M group 2 and 24 h after exercise compared to P group (P=0.014 and P=0.033, respectively). It seems that 10-day supplementation with MSM has allowed to decrease muscle damage via effect on antioxidant capacity.

Mickey, I can only show you the door…

Thank You for that ( aka the above ) .

So in summary;

Is it ;

A) a good thing

Or

B) a bad thing

Regarding MDV and his recovery from injury?

( Apologies if I’ve missed anything) .

Seeing lots of rumours on twitter about Van Der Venn being out till next season. Anyone heard that too?
Not on Twitter so can’t comment on that. However, noticing an increase in regards to articles that are hinting towards a wider issue at play for both VDV and Romero. The Standard had an article today without anything but a hint, which is a roundabout way of saying the club is shutting down something, usually at least

The van de ven and Romero situation combines with Spurs collapse in the Premier League to suggest something that most seasons would be unthinkable, namely shutting down players who likely could get back on the pitch. If you view these players as financial assets as opposed to players, it starts to make sense. What is there left this season to play for? Romero may well want to leave, so does it make sense to risk injuring him before he can bring in a healthy transfer fee? van de vyn is someone Spurs want to keep and, given what's been happening this season how comfortable would the team feel letting him come back? Do you trust a manager whose job may be at stake to be cautious with VDV? If you did shut them down you couldn't announce it as precautionary because then Postecoglou's supporters would see it as not supporting Big Ange. Or maybe you've already told Postecoglou he won't be fired and all concerned are OK with not having them play?

Get him on HGH. Works for every NBA player who reaches the Playoffs.

It's not Haram if prescribed by a medical professional so I'd bet good money Salah has been using HGH all these years.

One way to shut this down. Don't expect either will be available Sunday. However both should be playing next week away to Ipswich or at least on the bench. That's a full 13 days since Villa Cup exit. Anything else and there is something amiss which is ridiculous. If both are refusing to play then we better not be paying them.

So you think vdv would play against elfsborg but has refused to play in a semi final at anfield and possibly against united. Just walk me through the logic there

I’m not saying he’s refusing to play. I’m not saying Ange is refusing to play him.

But it is an illogical situation. Going from not quite ready for Brentford to missing the whole week after… but Ange saying he’s not injured.?

Either VDV has developed a mental block with playing or something else is up

I'm almost entirely certain VDV will be doing all of this...

It's genetic as well mate. Some players are just predisposed to injuries. Especially someone of Van de Ven's size and speed. Once they get a couple of injuries in the same area then they usually have issues throughout their career and it is about managing it. Like King, consummate professional but when your body is a certain way there isn't much you can do.

The club may have to just manage it a lot better than we have done minutes wise. Or he may grow out of it a bit and learn to not push his body quite as hard and rely more on positioning than always sprinting.

Ange said both were slow burners and we were being very careful with them, I’d say after Chelsea that’s understandable.

He specifically stated mickey had not had a set back or re injured himself so are we now saying Ange straight up lied to everyone?

King was cartilage, though so slightly different.

With VDV, I don't know that he doesn't and if you told me he does I'd believe you... but sameway he's a young guy and someone with freak genetics. From experience, sometimes those young guys who have it naturally take some time to understand exactly how obsessive they need to be to really max out their talent. Things can come a bit easy to them. Sleep and diet being the big ones.

They are still young guys and the same as you or I, if somebody had told me I had to religiously sleep 8hrs in my early 20's, even though I know myself I could play hungover and nobody would probably notice....would I have listened to them without something like a recurrent injury threatening my career? Not sure.

Anyway, like you said maybe he already figured all this himself and some of it is genetics and can get by on a mix of maturing physically and just understanding his limits better. He wouldn't be the first player to have issues and figure it out.

Of course hes doing it. These are highly priced assets, for a club and agents and themselves. Theres no way in hell hes not doing all this
