Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Has seemed a bit suss with his defensive awareness and positioning at times, and caught out for the Chavs goal today. Needs to be defending that cross better, especially with his height.

Think his overall game will develop a lot more with a less harem-scarem team setup and manager. Speed as an attribute, not as a dependency.

People overrate Mickey’s current level bevause of his physical qualities. Ange’s daft system lets him show his athleticism but as an actual defender he’s still extremely raw, prone to ball watching and panicking especially on crosses. He’s capable of reaching an elite level but agree we need a serious manager to come in and develop him and our other talents.

A coach like Ange cannot properly develop young players because he doesn’t respect the basic principles of the game. A coach who doesn’t care if his team can’t defend a simple cross to the back post. His crude methods are causing some really bad habits to become embedded in these players.

What?! I was told he's world class and the best CB in the PL.

So in the last 2 days before our biggest game of the season, we’ve seen stories like this for:

Sarr
Udogie
and now VDV

Crazy coincidence I guess. Just bad timing.

Gravenberch's agent up to it too. It is just what happens.

Not that I am surprised the players are thinking about moving on at all. We are a club going nowhere but down, any player with an ounce of ambition isnt going to want to hang around.
