Boots have no effect on anything? Mate, they're the piece of equipment that players use to run 9/10 kilometres in! The fact is, the football boot has transitioned from primarily leather (hide and kangaroo) to these shitty plasticy boots you see nowadays. Most of these plastic boots are bright as well, as the plastic is pretty easy to colour compared to leather.

Its like at school, you have a uniform yeah, but every body would wear it slightly differently. Some people wear their tie really short, etc. its just an innate human trait. To stand out and be a bit different.
