That's going to happen to any club if they go about 2 years without buying any new players... Weren't we the first club ever In the premiership not to sell or buy during the summer transfer window...
I think we did sell, we just didn't buy.

The problem with Poch, is that after the initial success he had with his first few windows worth of recruitment (under Mitchell) the signings became more expensive and less, well, good.
Sanchez, Sissoko, Aurier, etc. All generally terrible footballers who seemed to take us backwards. And they all got more game time after the real performers left.

Why does anyone think Poch will come back and, without Mitchell behind him, bring the type of players the club needs in?

This club will be the end of me. Brilliant manager, but he's Conte part 2. Which begs the question: "If Tuchel is the answer, why not just stick with Conte?"

Tbf, he’s not really like Conte in many ways.

He has proven with Dortmund and Mainz that he can work with younger players, and is more flexible tactically than Conte.
He played 433 at Dortmund and at PSG too for a a period.

He played excellent football too at Mainz Dortmund and PSG, the myth he plays bad football is from his time at Chelsea where he played 5 at the back. His style is very different to Conte’s.

I just feel if we appointed him though it would be another case of Levy appointing a high profile manager and putting off rebuilding the squad in the hope that Tuchel would be able to get a tune out of the dross currently at our disposal.
I would’ve loved Tuchel a few years back (he would’ve been a great choice when Poch was sacked) but I just feel it’s so toxic at the club now he’d be destined to fail before he started.

Before any decision on our manager is made, the club need to let it's fans know the direction it is going in. Why would any manager go near us if the club don't know where they want to go or who they want to be?

No for me - Ex Chelsea, Defensive Pragmatic Manager, doesn't use youth or improve his players, plays 3 at the back.

Literally Jose & Conte all over again.

If we hire Tuchel I would be fuming to be honest, we know in 2 years where we will be and we've done the same things 3 times in a row with Nuno in the middle as a true fuck you to the fans.

Enic need to fuck off and we need an attack-minded manager.

END OF STORY, GOODBYE, THE END.

Thought his biggest gripe with levy was that he was coach and not the manager, and he had very little say on player recruitment.

Yep and he's got a more volatile personality than either of them which is a pretty high bar. I looked at his wiki page the other day, every club he's been at has 'clashes with the board/chairman/DoF mentioned. He's just a bit of a dick.

Agree I am wary of Poch back but my god if we go down this route fuck me. It’s not only the style of football but we can’t fund a cheque book manager, we ain’t Chelsea or City.

Tuchel or Poch? Neither, thanks.

I'd love to see a young, exciting manager at Spurs again - the squad is going to need a massive overhaul in the summer, so let's take a risk on an up-and-coming manager who plays exciting, progressive football and wants to commit to a project.

No more Chelsea has-beens, and Poch can come back in 3-4 years when all the deadwood who threw in the towel for him are long gone.

Doesn't use youth part isn't fair. I think every job he's had he's played youth prospects. He's not as defensive minded as people would like you to believe. He played great football at Mainz, Dortmund and PSG. Chelsea at the beginning was great, but towards the end it wasn't great. A lot of Chelsea fans are desperate for him back.

If Paratici stays on, I think him and Poch could be excellent together if they both accept that partnership. Poch should however have a clause in his contract for instant dismissal if he plays a diamond.
