He’s likely dodged a fatal career bullet.
I wouldn't say that.

Poch has gone on to manage PSG and Chelsea
Mourinho has gone on to Roma
Conte will get another job no problem.

He might achieve great things at Feyenoord next season, but he said himself that he doesn't want to be in Dutch football in 3 years time. A chance of a top PL club might not come again.

If he doesn't want to come then fine, I want someone who does. But he's made a twat of himself with his press conferences as well.

Honestly, I think we're all too hung up on the notion of a "top" Manager. I'm not even kidding, fucking Levy has to over engineer this shit every time, to the point that everything gets fluffed and we end up scraping the bottom of the barrel for dregs like Nono...

There's a whole heap of middle ground in between the likes of Mourinho, Conte, Naglesmann etc and then guff like Gattuso, Nuno, whoever. You know, a middle ground of competent Managers who know how to build a functioning football team.

Slot's currently flavour of the month, and I had begun to feel a little excitement due to all of the positive press I won't lie, but all you have to do is look at Emery at Villa to see that there are gettable managers out there, that don't need to cost the earth and don't require a bunch of stupid games and drawn out compensation talks to get hold of.

Club needs to get real first though, we aren't anywhere near the elite level on any front aside from shiny new stadium, and in a few years that will seem utterly meaningless, if not outright embarrassing if we don't sort our shit out on the pitch.
You know Levy will not be able to sort it out. The fact is our team is almost completely dysfunctional now and have only won two games since we sacked Conte. There is no plan and never has been that is the problem.

Gallaaardoooo ohhhhh, Gallaaaardoooo ohhhhh
He came from River Plate, to see us in a state

Approach him already before I make up more crap lyrics

I’m surprised but I’m also not surprised we’ve fucked it up. I bet it was something to do with the compensation. Feyenoord wanted £20m and we’ve refused to pay that so he’s signed a new contract.

Pointless guess who it would be now or trusting any reports that it will be x or y until the next poor bastard is in the hot seat. Club is obviously a complete mess.

If they asked for 20 million then we were right to say no, but it's the what we do next and having a ready to apply plan B.

If Slot wanted to come then he had to also force the issue.

It's clever though. Biding our time to see who goes down - you absolutely have to pounce on the likes of Allardyce, Dyche and Dean Smith on the very rare occasions they're available.

They cannot ask for 20m just arbitrarily, say he had 3 years left at 2m a year the contract can be bought out for 6m , if it’s 3m which I doubt it‘s 9m . i am sure the new contract is more now though , but that is academic sadly
They can ask for whatever they want, your interpretation isn't how it works...

Otherwise how do you explain transfers? You think a club can just come in and sign Kane for the remaining value of his contracted wages? No, we can demand £100m still...

Manager transfers are basically the same process as player transfers, it's just that historically they haven't been seen as nearly as valuable as the players, that's changed somewhat now due to the mega-money involved in the game.

Wolves were bottom when lopetegui arrived. Done a good job. Plays modern football. made a 'dizzying' offer to him apparently a few years ago when he was at sevilla.
Wolves were in The Championship when Nuno took over...

I'm not even saying he's a bad manager, or would be a bad fit, but the optics of it would be bad, and I'd wager that Levy is more likely to do something for show than the sensible thing.

Ok say Slot was our number 1 target, we have done the due diligence on all the candidates and have already decided Slot is the best choice, then in what world do you not pay the compensation because you have already identified that he is everything we want in a Manager.
