Im geared towards picking a younger manager. Someone with an actual vision for the club. The Gooners went for Arteta who had never managed a first team before, the backed him and allowed him to clear out the 'stars' like Ozil and Abuamayang. It looked like madness to freeze out Abuamayang but it set a standard and they have been better for it.

My issue with Conte is he wants backing, but doesnt want to commit. Why give him a warchest if he isnt interested in signing a 3 or 4 year deal? Another matter, is Conte isnt interested in any youngsters as he is all about the here and now. We cant sign Mbappe or Bellingham. We get high caliber players finding diamonds in the rough and giving youth a go.

Im sick of practically begging Conte to stay, and having to jump though hoops to satisfy him when the football is shit and he is getting worse results than Poch. He acts like he is doing us a favour by being our manager, not even ack acknowledging he is failing short of what Poch did.

I want a manager who actually wants to be here, and has a longer term vision for the club.
It's time for ENIC to fund Paratici and Conte with enough to buy a good 5-6 first team upgrades between now and the summer, at least 2 big incomings now, and you have to hope that's enough for Conte to extend his contract. If neither of these things happens he'll be off, and it'll just be another Nuno summer all over again won't it?

But I do share your dislike of his lack of commitment in terms of the contract, and I really don't enjoy his tactics much of the time. But we've got to give him more time and resources, it's the best hope we have for now.

I love Poch for who he is, what he did for us and what he represents, but fear that it will not end well if he returns.

I still have no idea what Levy's and Paratici's vision and plan is for the club's footballing development. Without this, I find it hard to get excited about who the next manager after Conte is, if he leaves :pochunimpressed:

Tuchel's a great manager but I'm not sure if he'll be committed, which is the main problem in the first place.

The club are seemingly pursuing a strategy of targeting younger players, is that something Tuchel would like to be a part of for 3-4 years?

We need someone committed to a project who agrees with the board's strategy.

Love Poch but we know if Levy brought him back it would be too cheap out on the club not only that we would be putting Poch in a difficult position as the fall guy if it went wrong. I do love Poch’s style of play though, amazing to watch with the right players.

The transfers argument against Poch however I don’t buy. It’s not Poch’s job to scout players or build the squad, that is the DoF and scouts, that Levy and Poch where so heavily involved in squad building last time is a black mark against the club not Pochettino even if Poch didn’t want a DoF that must be made clear that is neither his role nor Levy’s. If Poch did come back its not his role to fix the squad in the market it’s his role to train the players and get the tactics right.

Overall I would be hesitant to bring him back, with the right players he is a monster but Conte is also a monster with the right players and the question is can the club do that.

I wouldn’t be convinced about Tuchel at all. If you thought the moaning, complaining and negativity out of Conte is bad, this guy is on another scale. European Cup win masks somewhat that Chavs league results in his near two years at the helm were quite underwhelming. Roberto di Matteo also managed them to win a European Cup and Avram Grant was only John Terry slipping on his penalty run up in Moscow away from doing it too.

And we’ve had enough Chavs managerial cast offs at this stage.

Guys I just want the best for us and if Conte walks the best option is Tuchel. I love Poch but he isn't better than Tuchel. The mere fact that Poch is even being considered shows how limited our options are. No more Nuno, Gattuso or other crap.
It really isnt , its just more of the same with Tuchel. We've seen that short term, win now managers struggle when not backed like they were at previous clubs. They'd be no writing off £100m on Lukaku here. Imo Tuchel would be here 2 years tops and the football would be more boredom. It just doesnt work at Tottenham. Like AVB, Mourinho and Conte to extent Tuchel would manage to fall out with people if he were the only one in the room. Another all round bad fit.

Tuchel isn’t a project manager and his football can be boring. Ten Hag and Potter are gone, so it would be Pochettino or a left field appointment like Gallardo if we wanted to do a progressive project.

What's the alternative then?

People were complaining about how boring the football was under Poch. Also going to have the same problems again with transfers, he didnt want to work with a DOF. Gallardo no experience managing in Europe, can I see Levy trusting him, nope.
