Tuchel or Poch? Neither, thanks.

I'd love to see a young, exciting manager at Spurs again - the squad is going to need a massive overhaul in the summer, so let's take a risk on an up-and-coming manager who plays exciting, progressive football and wants to commit to a project.

No more Chelsea has-beens, and Poch can come back in 3-4 years when all the deadwood who threw in the towel for him are long gone.
I totally agree with you but i do think that will end up being the choice. I just dont see Levy paying the compensation and taking the risk on someone like Thomas Frank, Vincent Kompany etc when he's got Poch and Tuchel available for nothing, who can join straight away sitting there and waiting for our offer. He's got no imagination sadly.

How the fuck are we landing on our feet still?!

Conte wants out and we've got Tuchel and Poch still gagging for the chance to come here.
How are we landing on our feet? They'll come and we'll carry on moving backwards.
Other than the "star name" factor of either, the club won't be "on it's feet" until the squad and board is replaced.

To be fair Levy pays big bucks for managers and the facilities are world class.

It’s like building skyscrapers, if you build lots of them it looks like you have a rich city when the city might be total shit. Club views having an elite manager as being an elite club, it’s simplistic but we do have it. If we paid for players like managers we would be Chelsea.

Thought his biggest gripe with levy was that he was coach and not the manager, and he had very little say on player recruitment.

I reckon it's 6 to 1 half a dozen to the other.
We (fans) genuinely have no idea which players Poch wanted and which ones he was lumped with. Anyone who says they do know outside of Poch, Levy, Mitchell and the other pleb who left is lying/fantasising.

I have mixed feelings about this. I mean Tuchel is a great tactician and I am not sure about this “boring football” label that is sticked with him. I haven’t watched Chelsea, but I think they’ve been playing like shit before Tuchel and now after Tuchel, with Potter as manager. I will check his teams at Dortmund and PSG, but I think he’s done pretty well there in terms of football quality.

But on the other side, I am unsure if he’s the best fit for the transition process the club must undertake. I think he worked with a DOF at PSG, but that didn’t end well. I am unsure if he’s a “project” manager either. And I am not sure if he is “flexible” with his system, I mean he may change formations but I still see him as a somewhat rigid manager, even when playing attacking football.

Going by his CV, there is no doubt he’s a top manager, but so is Conte. I wouldn’t be against Tuchel, but I have my doubts. Don’t know why we’re not trying with managers like Gallardo though.

Sounds like we are Doha - maybe thats why Qatar showed interest in us

I think it's a Levy want and need. He knows the club can attract this stature of manager now (Conte, Tuchel, Mourinho) and he thinks it means we're a world class club and it'll produce world class results. Mourinho was a personal win for Levy, he wanted him before he went to Chelsea the first time, and wanted him when he left Chelsea the first time.

Gallardo is the type of manager us as fans would like as hes young, attacking and exciting (from what I've read anyway). Potter would have been lined up after Conte I think, but he's now at Chelsea, which means he'll be with us in about 18 months time.

Tuchel, obviously. Ex Chelsea, bit of a cunt, falls out with owners. Obvious Levy choice.

He's a better manager than Conte imo (more modern methods, Conte's system would never win a CL) but another guy who will fall out with the board within a year, and another one who doesn't play the kind of football fans want & will still win nothing, so there's no upside.

I like Tuchel, very clever man. But fucking hell we just hop from available big name manager to available big name manager like we're Chelsea back in the 2010's under Roman, despite having no intention of spending what it takes to be successful with this model.
