I voted Marco Silva, I think he's a safe but still progressive option. Has Fulham playing good football, only a year left on his contract. I think he would jump at the chance to come here.

The negative is that he has a reputation as a mercenary. However, he would still need to prove himself here which is different from a proven manager coming here. A 3 year contract would show enough commitment for me.

At the end of the day all managers come with some risk.

Gallardo because fuck it let’s take a chance. Normally the risky ones Jol, Redknapp, Poch who are not elite and play attractive football work.

Likes of Tuchel and worse Simone would make me cry.

a mercenary wouldn't work here as we don't shift players on for whatever reason. He would be stuck with disgruntled players hanging around. No good for anyone.

It only works if backed by the board, which is the problem we've found with most of our managers.

He's a better manager than Conte imo (more modern methods, Conte's system would never win a CL) but another guy who will fall out with the board within a year, and another one who doesn't play the kind of football fans want & will still win nothing, so there's no upside.

I like Tuchel, very clever man. But fucking hell we just hop from available big name manager to available big name manager like we're Chelsea back in the 2010's under Roman, despite having no intention of spending what it takes to be successful with this model.
I think he fell out with the Chelsea board because Bohely wanted to sign Ronaldo, and Tuchel didnt want him, which is fair. He had a good relationship with Abramovic.

He fell out with the Dortmund + PSG boards before that. He's very outspoken.

I'd legitimately be quite excited to see him here but then I was a bit excited to see Conte here too. It's always weird to see big name managers at Spurs no matter if you think it'll work or not. I feel like Tuchel would give us a short-term boost again but we'd be back where we started within a year.

Tbf, he’s not really like Conte in many ways.

He has proven with Dortmund and Mainz that he can work with younger players, and is more flexible tactically than Conte.
He played 433 at Dortmund and at PSG too for a a period.

He played excellent football too at Mainz Dortmund and PSG, the myth he plays bad football is from his time at Chelsea where he played 5 at the back. His style is very different to Conte’s.

I just feel if we appointed him though it would be another case of Levy appointing a high profile manager and putting off rebuilding the squad in the hope that Tuchel would be able to get a tune out of the dross currently at our disposal.
I would’ve loved Tuchel a few years back (he would’ve been a great choice when Poch was sacked) but I just feel it’s so toxic at the club now he’d be destined to fail before he started.
Conte proved at Inter that he can play with younger players (Bastoni, Barrella that he got from Cagliari, Lautaro etc.) and that he can also play some beautiful football (again, Inter was one of the most beautiful teams to watch in Italy. Not dominant like Napoli are, but very entertaining direct football).

I also do not believe that Tuchel plays bad football. I watched his PSG side hundreds of times when I used to live in France, and it wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be (although I think that it was his fault that LOSC won the title in 2021, not Pochs).

It's just that Tuchel is Conte in steroids when it comes to being a dickhead. And Conte was Jose in steroids. And I don't blame them, because changing managers won't fix the mess unless Baldy J and Baldy D sell the club.

I think I want Gallardo.

Doesn’t speak English so he can just make obscene hand gestures at everyone. Attacking style.

We’ll be in the relegation zone by December but should put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Maybe if he has us in the relegation zone, he'll get rewarded with the Real Madrid job a few months later like Ramos was.

You either commit to Conte, and run the club at a significant loss while you bring in the exact experienced players he wants, or you part ways, sell Kane, Son, and whoever else won't commit to a new project, replace Hugo, and hire an up-and-coming manager to work with Paratici building a young team relying on potential and high energy. And then, if you do the latter, you accept that this means you will need to rotate coaches every 2-3 years and sell guys who get jaded or want something else. The idea that you can keep Kane, Son, and other stars happy with a big name manager while not operating like a club trying only to "win now" is the problem. And the fact that the Chairman and the Board cannot recognize this is a sign they all need to go. It's not the need for a new owner, it's a need for new decision makers who actually make decisions instead of refusing to commit.
