Will be interesting to see if Pochs name is sung on saturday. Pretty much the only reason I can be bothered turning up

People don’t really want Poch back.

They want to the state of the club while Poch was here.

Think Rodgers at Liverpool is very similar to Poch at Spurs.

Two above average managers that had everything fall into place for them but didn’t win anything

Ok we got Conte out and then after one bleeding game people want Stellini out after screaming for him to take over. Conte was right patience is needed but people don't have any when it comes to the manager. If the next man comes in and gets us playing the best football we've ever but finishes 5 or 6th will that be enough to stop people calling for his head? I don't think so.
How many were screaming for Stellini to take over? I missed have missed that... :/ I think many just wanted Conte gone as it was getting toxic, but I don't think anyone wants or wanted Stellini for the long term.

As I said, for me, and it seems for OldBoy68 OldBoy68 , fighting for 4th place, getting it sometimes, winning the odd cup, and attractive football, would be acceptable and certainly enough for us to 'stop calling for the manager's head'. I can't speak for others of course - there are plenty on here who seriously believe we should be challenging for the title every year!

100%. Poch might do it again but we are in free fall and now is not the time to grasp at straws.

And to qualify.. It’s not for ever. The next 2-3 years until we build something:
  1. Attractive (that doesn’t mean tourism - it means good football)
  2. A club / business that is calm and appears to know what its doing
  3. Employment of people who can do a good job.
Maybe #3 should be first because of logic.

Poch is one of the most accomplished managers available. It’s not grasping at straws, it’s a smart hire

Has the character big enough to manage big egos and now a trophy or 2 to back it up.

Knows the club, knows the league.

If we can get him the athletes he needs - we already have Biss, Spence, Udogie, Sarr - he could recreate that aggression before the squad was starved of incomings.

The narrative would be irresistible, even for the media that hate us.

Still open to others but would absolutely love Poch to come back.

Edit: Emerson, Porro both athletes. Kulu doesn't have pace but is an athlete.

Considering there's still no formal approaches, early talks, or just rumours of talks with Rodgers, Poch, Potter, Nagelsmann and Enrqiue even though they are free and available leads me to believe Levy has his heart set on De Zerbi and although the intital reply from him was "MEH" I think after the final game he'll go all in and offer him dizzying money and sell him on a whole bunch of lies

If that dont work then he'll go to these free agents if there's any left by then.

I’ve a feeling especially if paratici is still about that we will go for Amorim at Sporting. Same formation and boring football.

I Chavs have a shortlist and started meeting reoresentives of some including JN. They have poch, Napoli manager, EF manager , luis E, Amorim as well. Have we got a shortlist confirmed by any sources and actually started interviewing? If chavs can do it surely we can?
Also it’s unlikely, with the teams we still have to play and unlikely to win with stellini in charge , we are getting top 4. So why not just ditch him and start planing for next season with a new manager who can they start implementing their styke.
Umm, maybe because our first choice manager is currently managing another team or doesn't want to start until summer? Unless you want us to narrow our list to just who is out of work now, which wouldn't be the smartest thing now, would it?

I just want a manager to come in whose philosophy is front foot, attacking, entertaining football whatever you want to call it. I wouldn't be disappointed as such if Poch returned, far from it, but I'd rather a fresh face. We've had what, 3/4 years or so of this largely horrible, defensive football to endure? I have zero expectations of a trophy, certainly these days, but I just want to actually WANT to watch Spurs play again, that's all.

As a poch fan I watched a fair bit of psg when he was manager and despite the stellar squad much of the football was turgid boring as fuck and unadventurous- a bit like his last 3 months at spurs -,that’s why he is not top of my list but his return would boost morale at the club and may be worth a punt.
That's very short-termist, though. Yeah, he'll boost morale initially, but if the football doesn't improve moral will go back down again. On the other hand, if you hire a manager that will play good football there won't an initial moral boost, but in the long-term the moral will go up (and stay up) as a result of the better football.
