Cannot understand any argument for this guy ahead of Luis Enrique but he seems like he’s our man so will get behind up fully, just can’t shake the feeling he’s gonna be sacked by December.

I don't get it either, and I like Ange. Especially when Romano said that Enrique really wants to come here, despite how this season has went.

We'll just have to hope that they know something that we don't, or that they get it right by accident.

I can’t say why Ange would be ahead of Enrique but I can see plenty of reasons to be cautious of him. He’s only ever had success with Messi, his brand of football can be stale and reminiscent of AVB-ball, his last club job was a super club with huge money, he will bring huge expectations which we know Levy cannot measure up to.

If you set expectations low, it’s easier to exceed them. That’s Levy’s thinking and always has been.

Enrique might be looking for a payday; perhaps asking similar money to Conte et al (although slightly less).

Ange will be much cheaper. Three/four million a year?

Why hire Mourinho and Conte then?

I too would really want to join a company where I get paid massive wages and have moderate expectations, and if I don’t achieve them - I’ll get a massive payment to fuck off.

I don't believe they have had any talks with him already. Maybe just with his agent who is leaking this.

Could be they waited until the end of the season in each country to start interviews to have as many candidates available at one time.

Still hoping they decide to get a Sports Director in first that knows what a football is so it's not Levy, Munn and whoever they kept on from Fabs team doing ITWs.

I don't think its that simple. Managers want to succeed, they all have big ego's which makes them want to get into management to begin with.

Even in Conte's meltdown he said he was mad because he had never been in a situation like this before. It's more than just wanting a payout.

They know that as an ambitious manager, and ex Barcelona player, Enrique will want tangible footballing success and expect to be backed to make this happen.

Ange will be happy with lesser known talent and be more forgiving.

I’m sure it’s because Luis Enrique will want to bring in more expensive players where Ange is probably more on board with bringing in younger cheaper talent with upside

This is the issue that seems to be getting swept under the rug.

Seems the club is acting like you just snap your fingers and unwind the appointments of Jose and Conte.

There are players that came to the club for both Jose or Conte and were sold the story of matching the ambitions of both those two serial winners. We had Paratice enforcing standards and spending big on the way the team travels etc

Now you want to just flip to hiring a project manager and being the plucky underdog again?

Doesn't work that way unless you fully clear house and start again.

They'll probably wait until Ange is all but confirmed then bring in a DOF that wants to start again and conduct his own manager search
