Glad 80% don't want him

- Boring football (like really bad) -> Mourinho style
- Wolves parted ways with him to progress (they felt like he couldn't do anymore with them)
- Palace/Everton very close to appointing him.
- Mendes connections (Mendes is bad news for our club)

He's like what 10th choice. For me the 'attacking DNA' thing is very important. I just want to be entertained. We're not gonna win anything so at least allow us to be entertained. Nuno would be breaking that promise and I find it totally unacceptable. He's played boring football at all of Porto,Valencia,Wolves so even clubs with more prowess than Wolves.

I don't really care about the 'attacking DNA' stuff. For me, it's largely a myth anyway. I started watching us when Ossie was manager and there were a few good moments, but mostly it was getting beat. Then it was Gerry Francis, Gross, George Graham - enough said. Played some decent stuff under Hoddle but ultimately, got beat up quite a lot. Santini was boring and defensive. Jol was decent. Ramos was crap. Harry was good, but my best moment under Harry was watching us beat Milan 1-0 at the SanSiro with a solid performance won with a counter-attack. AVB was shit football. Poch was great when we had the players, the best I have ever seen us. Jose was Jose.

So the DNA is dead, it's fluff from Levy and he doesn't care about it either. We should be targetting the best manager, but we can't because Conte heard what they had to say and told them to shove it. And we have worked our way down the list until we find a guy who can work with Levy's limited ambitions for the club.

What gets me is people wanting the attacking DNA but who also moan about why we didn't get Conte...

I found a chart comparing him and Mourinho at Chelsea using some stat nonsense to define playing styles...other than a bit more crossing there's not a hell of a lot of difference is there...

Conte probably won’t work with us. The reason for Conte is that fans think it will get success, he is a better manager than Jose but it’s still a gamble.

You can offer success or good football but offering shit football and no success is a bitter pill to swallow. We ain’t winning Jack shit so I want a manager who plays decent quality football, I have come to terms with the lack of success.

The ‘Spurs way’ stuff does make me chuckle. For most of our history we probably haven’t been particularly attractive to watch. Playing ‘entertaining’ football and finishing 11th with no trophies isn’t acceptable to me.

Keeping fans happy is pretty simple - win football matches. We should definitely be aiming for top four. Not convinced by our ownership but we shouldn’t be totally throwing in the towel either.

I hate the idea that there is some sort of play nice football or win. The top teams play the best football. Pragmatic, negative coaches like Nuno and Jose aren't winning shit. The argument that has been made recently about "oh you would rather play nice than win" when it comes to Jose and Nuno is such shit because Nuno and Jose do not bring winning.

Jose might be a busted flush but he has won pretty much everything there is to win in club football.

Most top managers have played pretty football but hardly all of them. And whilst Jose certainly benefitted from massive funds in his periods of success what can one say about Pep at Man City in that regard?

So we sacked Jose to hire new Jose. This club is a total and utter shambles and a banter place. We deserve all the criticism, failure and laughter we get our way if we got through with this. Levy mentioned DNA and if he hires Nuno he has lied.
Only trouble with Spurs is Levy. Never anything with
him in charge. Even Managers don't trust him.

Look we ain’t winning shit. We are choosing a style of football for next season, and for me I would actually like to enjoy the football again rather than be served eye bleeding ball.

I don't think he's by any stretch the worst name we've been linked with during this absolute embarrassing clusterfuck.

My patience with this club is really wearing thin though. It's so annoying that it's not as simple as just giving up supporting, because it isn't.

Bit of a false dichotomy? Mou ball was certainly appalling to watch but I would like us to be effective as well.

Poch’s football at its peak was the best I have seen personally but even that was an effective press rather than all-out attack. That was more Harry (which I really enjoyed too).

He did win, past tense. It has been awhile since he has won anything close to everything in football.

The point is negative football does not bring results with it, there is no choice between beautiful football or winning.

The false dichotomy is that negative football brings results.

Agree. The point I am making is that we should have an aim of winning football matches. That is important as is style of play.

It ebbs and flows, but at the moment the way the best teams press you can't have the ball on your half of the pitch all the time if you want to win at a high level.

Klopp's Liverpool would put Jose's first Chelsea team under pressure in ways the top teams of that time didn't.

I think that the preferred style ebbs and flows but at no time does pragmatic, negative football automatically bring results that is the point I am making.

It often comes up in the Potter arguments and in the past of the Jose arguments where people would say do you want to win or play nice as though if you played an attractive brand of football you couldn't win or if you play negative that you get results that is what I am arguing against the idea that some have that if you are against Nuno you want style over results. I don't want Nuno, and didn't want Jose, because they have a terrible style and don't bring results either.

Many Nuno supporters I have see are trying to make it a style vs. results argument when that is not the case at all.
