Conte. A free agent. Even Ten Haag. Steven Gerrard would have been more inspiring.
Benitez or Bielsa would have been acceptable.
Serious football clubs, those who aspire to win trophies, go out and get their man.
They use their clout and their wealth to get the job done.
They don't spend 3 months twatting around only to finish up with a mid table cast off who's been out of work for half that time because nobody else of note wants the fucking job

If we'd lined up Paratici to run the offseason and he'd gone out and targeted Nuno as his guy and we were aggressively setting about building that project with a well-funded summer, I'd be perplexed by the choice but would respect and back the forethought and planning.
But this appointment would not be happening in a vacuum. It's a club that has given up on meaningfully competing for honors throwing up its hands and going "yeah, sure, him, whatever"
