It's not a gimmick. You're naive if you don't think that the Parasite and Levy and Mendes were involved in this ridiculous appointment.
Mendes is Nuno's agent so obviously he was involved in negotiating it.

But the idea that Paratici is some form of Mendes stooge and that Mendes now runs our club which people are peddling is quite laughable. We've signed one Mendes client under Fabio and that is Nuno.

Agree with this - no harm in keeping influential agents close, really helpful when you are trying discard the walking dead like Doherty

I don't know if he'd come, but Valverde is surely a better bet than Rodgers. His teams play good football, he has plenty of top level experience. And he's 'free'. Seems a good fit.

I like Valverde alot and would be ecstatic if we got him. If we're waiting on Poch to become available I feel that we should go for Quique Setien though. The combinations he coaches and the way his Betis side played is so similar to Poch. Both men unfairly have bad rep because Barcelona are a shambles.

Potter really is slowly looking like the one. Brighton play good football. I am a bit concerned about them in front of goal. They’re pretty ponderous in the final third and their players always seem to make the wrong decision. It must frustrate Potter. Imagine what he could do with our side if he had Kane and son up front.

If we got a sniff that he’d come during the season then it’s a no brainier.

I think we blew our best shot at him. Can see him ending up at Woolwich or maybe even somewhere in Europe since he had shown a willingness to work abroad. Wouldn't be surprised if a Dortmund took a chance on him

Setien has Lo Celso scoring for fun.

I do however think that he won't take another job until his lawsuit with Barca is done. Similarly to how Conte waited until his suit with Chelsea was handled.

Easy to forget that Poch was a product of la liga, earning his spurs at Espanol. We need a manager who values possession, technical players in midfield. Spain is a natural place to look.

I said it earlier in the thread but it's so frustrating because it feels that Poch is the long term target. I believe Ali Gold even alluded to it a few times that Nuno is viewed as a stop gap to get us fit and hard to beat.

If Poch is the long term target then why is the team being coached long ball tactics? Why can't we do what Man City did when waiting for Pep and build a team with an attacking manager so the foundations are there? This fucking board man ...

This idea that we are going to sit around and wait for Poch to come back is going to hold us back. We need to be willing to move on. Both as a club and as a fanbase. If the stars align right he will be back one day. But we can't sit around and wait for that day.

We'll see what the future brings. I'm happy to be proved wrong BUT.....every big business has more activity behind the scenes than most people are aware of.
As Levy runs Spurs as a business and not a football team, it's reasonable to assume that as fans, we know absolutely the minimum about the machinations, financial or otherwise that are part and parcel of what goes on "in camera".

If they put the club in what is effectively limbo, waiting around on Pochettino, then we could easily slide out of the Prem.

I’m deadly serious.

Yup. Wanting to go back to something, even something good, is its own kind of regression.

Spurs need to move forward from Pochettino and embrace a new era. He will be back one day but we cannot sit around and wait for it.

There’s no way Nuno isn’t fired if we lose tomorrow
People can rationalize a lot of things. First, off Spurs might win (not likely but possible). Second, people can rationalize just about anything to themselves. After 3 straight thrashings you have to think the law of averages favors a close game. As long as it isn't a three goal loss they'll point at it and say there was improvement. I really would like to see him gone but I'm not counting on it.

Spurs can’t lose 4 league games in a row in any circumstances.
