Liverpool finally agreed fee with Thiago.

A shame.

Spending the Brewster’s millions.

Lovely footballer, wonder exactly where/how they plan to use him. As the central 6, in Fabinho’s place or as one of the lateral 8’s in place of Wijnaldum (most likely as he’s supposed to be off to join Barca LOL) or Henderson.

I wonder if they’d entertain selling Keita? I’d still love him here, think Mourinho would love him too.

Fabinho
Henderson - Thiago
In my opinion.

Very envious of this signing - he's been the best central midfielder in world football for a few years now. Here's hoping for whatever strange reason, he doesnt quite adapt.

I think that’s the most likely, the craziest thing is if Barca buy 29yo Wijnaldum When they could have bought 29yo Thiago back. Bonkers.

I suspect the bigger issue is his injury history.

Both Bale and Thiago are top drawer additions to the PL. Let's hope Gareth keeps fit enough to play more games than Thiago.

Leicester are close to signing Turkish winger Cengiz Under from Roma on loan, with an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, according to Sky in Italy. The Foxes will pay a loan fee of £2.7m for Under and commit to signing him permanently for £21.9m at the end of the season.

Seems a right ol' let down to me.... A million miles off the fuss that surrounded him when they signed him.

What un-disputable attributes do you think he'd bring to us.... (i.e. What can we 'bank' on from what you've seen of him in the EPL so far.)?

Personally I think he was unfortunate in that Liverpool found a formula that worked like clockwork and Klopp was reluctant to change it. But IMO Keita is a good combination of graft and craft, he can do a bit of everything, tenacious, can carry the ball, can pass the ball and he does it with energy.

He seems a bit lightweight to me (I understand why they went with Wijnaldum instead for instance).... Is this unfair?

Interesting as Liverpool have apparently been very hot on data analytics and supposedly evaluate players based on fitness and likelihood of injuries. They've had a remarkable run with their key players who always seem to stay fit and play virtually every game. It seems like Thiago wouldn't fit their model but his quality is worth overriding it.

He's got high work rate and presses well but very small frame. Had some good games for them but it might be due to his injury and inconsistent starting but he's clearly been their weakest performer in midfield aside from Oxlade-Chamberlain out of the regulars.

Just not settled, especially for a 60m player.

RedBull players always look better due to how their system works as well. They recruit specialists for specialist positions, so their decent players often look incredible (Poulsen at times, Forsberg, Sabitzer, Klostermann)

He's not a big fella but tenacious and presses really well. I still really like him. Things just haven't quite fallen for him there, bad injury, very settled team to break into, even then I don't think he's actually done badly when he's actually played.

Woolwich are closing in on a new replacement keeper after agreeing a £1.6million fee with French club Dijon for Runar Alex Runarsson.

Mikel Arteta is missing a shot-stopper in his squad after allowing Emiliano Martinez to move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa this week.

Runarsson, who had made 36 Ligue 1 appearances for his club in which he conceded 61 times, is due in London for a medical on Thursday, ahead of completing the switch.

Conceded 61 in 36!!!!
