I don't think they can. The modern so called wing-back is basically an injury waiting to happen. No player can maintain the work-rate required for an entire season without breaking down.
James is the one, luckily he seems to be made of tissue paper (walker was /is a machine)
I don't really class Walker as a wing back. Typically he's played in a back 4 or as the right-sided defender in a 3.
But for sure he's a physical beast, a once in a generation athlete.
City had him as a wing back, we did with dier falling back to be a CB... And wb for England.
He is only wb/rb I've seen run backwards with the same urgency as forwards.
(not going to argue rb or rwb but once in a generation for sure. If it wasn't for his pace he's a bad defender... But he has pace)

There's a lot of potential there but they're really lacking in areas. Need a new goalkeeper. Theyre lacking big time in the middle of the park. I've no doubts Enzo will come good but who's playing central midfield there? Gallagher? Carney? Santos? It's thin.
And there's a whole lot of crap in attack. Ziyech, Pulisic, Lukaku etc.
Defensively, they're actually set. Really good choices at both right back and centre back and Chilwell is fine on his day.
