Surprised we haven't seen more links to Itakura. Japanese, CB, BASE agency...ticks all the boxes
It seems like an extended loan to me, with the buy back clause there.Quite surprised City are willing to sell him. He got 29 goals and 18 assists in 33 games last season for City's u21s. Looked a really good all round player when he played against our u21s
I always thought that but Lavia loan /sale seems to look like it's ffp rather than a loanIt seems like an extended loan to me, with the buy back clause there.
If he makes the step up and realises his potential, City just buy him back at a reduced sum for a Prem ready talent. If he fails, they just trouser the fee.
Yeah, there's likely multiple reasons for it, but it feels like they're hedging their bets to me.I always thought that but Lavia loan /sale seems to look like it's ffp rather than a loan
I hate the strategy but City tend to have a high buyback which makes it a bit more palatableYeah, there's likely multiple reasons for it, but it feels like they're hedging their bets to me.
Helps with FFP in the short term, gets a talented youngster valuable minutes, let's them see how he develops over the course of a contract. If his development goes as they hope, they can then buy him back at a much reduced rate to what others would have to pay.
There's also the incentive for the player. Settled into a contract, but with the lure of playing for the best team in the World if he performs well.
I actually think it's a very smart strategy
Love it or hate it, it's a very smart strategy over the long term.I hate the strategy but City tend to have a high buyback which makes it a bit more palatable
I hope They regulate it away, similar to fuck tons of loans it's a way to hoard playersLove it or hate it, it's a very smart strategy over the long term.
I'd love for us to be in a position where we could do the same.
Why aren’t we in for him with those numbers?! Buy back, effectively a loan.Quite surprised City are willing to sell him. He got 29 goals and 18 assists in 33 games last season for City's u21s. Looked a really good all round player when he played against our u21s
happy we got this one done. Think we're still after another attacker & that might be João Félix
thats ambition for you, cracking signing would of taken him over kulu
No-one is saying he will be an absolute success, it’s the more the way they are showing ambition and quietly and quickly closing deals for weak areasWere you one of those Spurs fans who wet the bed because Villa signed Coutinho that time too?
