I wonder how bookies do their manager odds - it's not as though they have huge amounts of consistent data to go on... For example at one major bookie:

Next Spurs manager favourite is Graham Potter at 3/1.
Yet on the next Newcastle manager list, Potter is only 16th favourite at 33/1.

Given the current situation at both clubs, is Potter really 10 times more likely to be next Spurs manager than next Newcastle manager? :/

Btw in case anyone is interested, Spurs favourites are as follows, in this order:
Potter
Rodgers
Howe
Conte

...not that it necessarily means much, as I said initially it's always a very unpredictable market... But the bookies certainly aren't falling over themselves to shorten Conte's odds, despite various media suggestions this morning. I suspect that they, like most of us, expect it either to be total fabricated bollocks, or expect Conte to laugh in Levy's face if the approach is true...
Not sure if Roger is the one. Leicester are not looking particularly good ATM. I'd move him down the list.

More to do with the fact that he wouldn't coming here than people not being convinced
Is this confirmed? Perhaps he wouldn't want to leave mid season but I´d be shocked if Potter were to turn us down otherwise. We are a far bigger club than Brighton with much more upward potential and would clearly be a step up for him, wage wise as well as more money to spend, better players, facilities etc

Potter has already turned us down in the summer.

He knows he's good, and Liverpool, City, Chelsea and United jobs could all be up for grabs in the next year or two. Why risk your reputation on Daniel Levy, and a squad that's been playing awful football for three years now?
Also he's worked abroad already, I'd be willing to bet he'd move for a German, Spanish or Dutch club. I'm also willing to bet that the likes of Dortmund already have him on a list of potential managers.

Valverde surely worth consideration? Don't think this is a job for Eddie Howe, and I don't dislike Eddie Howe.
Valverde would be very good. He wouldn't play like Poch but it would be good and he would get the players on his side quickly I think.

Though the idea of a foreign coach is attractive new ideas , style of play etc but unless they’ve a cheque book with them it’s no better an option than any other so I’m warming to Graham Potter with a bit of luck he will get what it is to be a team trying to compete and if and it’s a big if he was to say yes Levy fucking backs him.

The problem with sacking Nuno now is the managers we should be after won’t come at this point. Just shows how horribly we screwed up the last coaching search. It is basically forcing us to have another wasted year.

I'd accept Fonseca, Favre but wouldn't hold much hope, just the football would be entertaining. (dear lord how far we've fallen).
Potter, Rodgers I'd support them.
Valverde, Poch, Conte would be the impossible dream.

Valverde's teams don't score enough goals, forget about a Messi inspired Barca or Greek giant Olympiakos, look at the stats of all his other teams equivalent to Spurs.

How low must Fonseca's self esteem be to even pick up the phone to us? Even if he did he'd surely get an earful from the missus.

FWIW I think we need someone who is experienced, ruthless and cold and will make the right decisions and not care about trying to keep the various cliques in the team happy. We need someone to offload the players that disrupting the team and try build what we can with what's left. That's the painful rebuild Poch eluded to. I'm also guessing he was talking about the family jewels - Kane.

We've had this problem since Poch. We had him, Mourinho, Mason, Nuno, and none have managed to sort it. The only gettable who fits that model is perhaps Bielsa.

Failing that, give us someone we can enjoy watching while we lose.

I want Poch but that's probably emotion over reason. I would though seriously look at Brendon Rogers. I get the sense that he has taken Leicester City as far as he can and maybe this is a good opertunity to offer him a new project with a bigger canvas. There's not many other places he can go. Man u is out. Woolwich seem to be wedded to an improving arteta. Liverpool seem to be wrapped up under Kloop. Man city may become available but would they go for him?.

Offer him the rigt package and I think he may jump.

How about Levy go on his hands and knees to Paris and beg Poch to come back. Or were Champions League finals and top four finishes not as exciting as losing to fucking West Ham and Crystal Palace?
Poch cannot come back unless he can have a full rebuild or most of the squad has gone. He needs close to a fresh slate. 60% of these pricks downed tools for him.
