In all seriousness Mourinho to Roma is a good news story for us - it can only be a good thing for our financials and it probably helps keep him busy rather than throw pot shots our way while a new manager is settling in.

The only shame is that I quite like Roma so it feels like you're watching a friend make a terrible mistake.

How does it help our finances? Were we only paying loss of earnings?

Extremely fun football. He's had failures in the past, and mostly served time at smaller Italian clubs, but his most recent job has been his most successful and they were playing some liquid stuff the last few years. His teams can concede a lot, and with the transition to PL where every team had really good players, if it goes wrong it could go horribly wrong. Pretty sure his Milan tenure was straight after Mourinho, lost his first five games and got the sack.

I'd take him over the likes of Benitez, Martinez, Howe, Parker, Nuno because the thought of these makes my heart sore, and if him and his style clicks with our squad it could be a delightful few years.

One thing to worry about with Gasperini is that he is rather volatile once set off.

He and Papu Gomez had a massive falling out in the fall, including one punching the other (some reports say Gasperini punched Papu, some the other way around). And Gasperini told Atalanta's owners that if Papu was not sold he would walk.

So if he were to fall out with any of our players it would become a trainwreck of massive proportions.

I had the same thoughts. What are the chances he wins them a cup? Has Jose even won a cup since his wondercoach (Rui Faria) left?

I guess we're about to find out. I'll be checking in with interest, but guess Italian game is more his style anyway.

Time for Potter or Parker and a new start
Sad Arrested Development GIF

Gasperini would be class.

Apparently he has turned down Inter and Juventus in the past, so why would he leave Italy and move to a brand new country?

London is quite multi-cultural and there are loads of Italian restaurants, so he might feel at home.

3-4-3 formation could suit us if we buy a couple of CBs.
