Didn't Eriksen sign an extension right before we bought him just to get a higher fee? Or was that Jan or Toby?

Either way it's happened before, but I don't think that is the case this time.

If that info is bona fide then I'd say it's 90% certain it's Lopetegui. That's a big if though.

I'd be superised if it wasn't him or Potter. I really don't see any viable, gettable or realistic options
 
Everyone on SC says JJ is reliable

That's because they chose to rely on the 1 in 100 things he says that are correct.

It's like seeing 1 BMW not indicating and claiming none do.

If true then you have to think it's a manager at club level who is already in a job.
 
Just listening to a long interview with Lopetegui by Guilem Balague in English. It was a couple of years ago and his English has improved since then:




I'm more convinced listening to it that he may well be the new boss. I'm warming to the idea as he comes across very well.

Not saying that Ali G is wrong. But he has a history of debunking stories that don't come from his club sources until he gets some form of confirmation that it has legs.

He always says things like "to my knowledge" or "at this time" to give himself some wiggle room if he does end up getting confirmation about it. He protects his sources within the club and they are probably not going to tell him who they are going for until it is more or less done.

If I had the same job as him and the same sources I too would play it as safe as possible.
