I like Koeman and think he would be a solid option to consider if he was dismissed from Barca but still want Potter above anyone else to be given the job.
As a manager Koeman is okay, if still a bit lost in big games. But my main issue with him is his man management. He takes the stereotype of Dutch people being very blunt about how they feel about things to an extreme.

He outright bullied one of Everton's strikers during his spell with them. And Barcelona had to step in because he was having a go at one of his youth players early on this season. But to turn it around he has shown that he is himself one not to be bullied by big ego players.

But his style of football and tactics I would be perfectly fine with. It is if he would get along with the squad that I would question.

This is in reference to a interview Barber did on Brighton's youtube and is a bit of a paraphrase.

What he actually said is "We don't want him to leave", not "We won't let him leave". And they also said "We hope that he does not want to leave".

All of which just mean "Pay us what we want".

Hope we don't then.

Good.

It's all well and good admiring Potters Brighton for playing attacking football, but how often are Brighton playing against teams that will sit deep and defend hard, waste time and play for the draw?
It would surely happen, yes, but I don't think it would be a deal breaker.

Yes, some teams would sit deeper against a Potter Spurs than a Potter Brighton, agreed.

As against that, we OUGHT to have better players that can create chances. Brighton don't have a Lo Celso, or a Lamela coming off the bench.

Also, if you look at a lot of the goals that Brighton have scored, edit - I mean missed - it's short passing close to the box. I can't remember a single Son type run from deep for a one on one with the keeper.

So, they create a lot of chances with the defence already in place, and supposedly ready. It's not brilliant defending or keeping that keeps games 0-0, it's having to rely on a reject like Danny Welbeck. Whinger's Goon teams would often batter lower teams, real flat track bullies. They were very good at neat triangles on the edge of the box, leaving a simple tap in for goals in a 5-0. Very difficult to defend against.

They also don't have Kane. Not Kane the No 9, who would score from the chances, but Kane the No 10 who would drop deep and create the chances for Son and co.

I honestly think he could be very good for us. If you read what Henrik Larsen said:

"..........played all different kinds of systems, starting off a match one way, and then halfway through they started playing a different system, and then they ended up with a third system. And all the players knew exactly what they were doing."[69]

Can you imagine trying to prevent a Spurs team scoring, when Kane goes seamlessly from 9 to 10? When you've got Son's (and Moura's) electric pace? Switching from 4 to 3 at the back with overlapping pace? Can you imagine the gaps the oppo would leave when we get the lead?

We've got so much talent that doesn't seem to fire properly. Moura for a start. Great at times, poor at others. Sess - there's a player there but we certainly havent seen it yet. Lamela, the definition of inconsistent. Ndom - how to make the best of his talents?

Potter is a real thinker on the game, and a great motivator. You don't get a PHD in Leadership and Emotional Intelligence if all you can shout is "run around a bit".

The more I read about him the keener I get.

The Athletic article adds to my want of Potter, however makes me OK with Rodgers now also. Interestingly the most similar coach to Potter is Allegri which surprises me.

Potter. Allegri. Lopetegui. Rangnick*. Conte*. Rodgers*.

Happy with any of those. (*Unlikely). Personally would love if we took a chance on Potter.

If we did pay Leicester a fortune to get Rodgers I can pretty much guarantee the first thing they'd do would be to hire Potter and spend the money we gave them on improving their squad.

Rodgers took Liverpool from no Europe to challenging for the title and they really should have won. Celtic was dominating as hell when he was in charge too, also Leicester will secure Champions League for the next season and some of you still say that Potter is a better option. smh.

Yes Potter def a better choice 😄

I agree that Rodgers gets his sides to play good football too but firstly why on earth would he want to leave Leicester?
Secondly are you saying he is better choice then Potter because he has managed Liverpool and Celtic? What about his stint at Reading?
