Martinez is much better for me, Rodgers build on what he made at Swansea to get them promoted the same way Koeman built on what Poch done at Southampton
The threshold question for Martinez is why would this be any different than Everton where he played attractive, progressive, and ultimately lightweight and useless football?

They flirted with top four for five minutes before wilting at the business end of his first season and just got worse from there, badly underperforming the quality of the squad they had and constantly playing naive, Wengerian football.

How do you finish 11th with that team?

There is a saying in German... "Alles hat ein Ende, nur die Wurst hat zwei."
Which basically means that everything has an ending, only a sausage has two.

Its difficult to apply this saying to our situation at the moment, as it seems, that our managerial search basically has no end? What the fuck is the "board" doing?

I'd trust a sausage more than I'd trust some of the names we've been linked with.

I just saw that Ranieri's contract is ending at the end of the season.

PL winner. Known to right a ship.

Probably a bit too old but knowing Levy it is not completely out of the picture.
Well, yes, he was the manager when they won it but it really was despite him not because of him.

Next season he badly wronged the ship and they might well have gone down if they hadn't fired him.

Honestly, he just cannot turn things around.

Obviously other teams want ex coaches from other teams... I just don't want another ex Chelsea coach. When we get ex Woolwich or Chelsea coaches, it doesn't always feel right or go well. We've just had 18 months of ex Chelsea and it got less and less fun. I'd rather have somebody else.
The only ex goon we've had was Graham and, unlike AVB and potentially Conte, he had a huge association with them. Conte and AVB combined was 2.5 seasons. Mourinho was different but I'd say he fell out with them enough that I wasn't concerned he would take the piss out of us. Sadly he is done.

Martinez is not a competent manager. Any suggestions he is, or should be our new manager, are signs of someone experiencing a full break with reality.
I can see why some newly promoted side would want to hire him to play ambitious football and try to score enough goals to stay up. I can see why Belgium wanted him to use their superstars in an expansive structure. Shit, I can see why Everton thought it might work. But it really, really didn't and the emperor was shown to have no clothes.

But, as someone else said, he's a youngish, English-speaking tactician who believes in an attacking philosophy and is very good at communicating business jargon-y football ideas to non-football people. It's Levy catnip.

I dont want him, but he has done more with less resources than the fraud Rodgers

Don't forget Terry Neill, (unless you're talking Prem only) and he set the foundations of relegation. So it's a no to all former Woolwich managers from me

Was that one of your chat up lines?

Used a few in my time but haven’t thought of that!

Howis Rodgers a fraud.
Made his name at Swansea thanks to all the work Huw Jenkins and Martinez done with setting a style of play up throughout the age groups, and because he is a former Chelsea youth coach (something the majority of fans I've talked to dont want, a former Chelsea coach) he brought in Scott Sinclair

Went to Liverpool, had a brilliant front 3, Sturridge he got due to his Chelsea connections as in not coached him, but having a good name with well connected Chelsea people, and lied to Sterling multiple times to the point he requested a transfer and got one to City

Then moved to Celtic when they were still dominating, according to Celtic fans lied multiple times to Ntcham & Edoardo and is the reason for the current unrest within the squad after feeding them shit

Now he is at Leicester, a brilliantly well run club, who's scouting I would say is fantastic but let's be fair they have common sense when it comes to recruiting

Walks into a team with brilliant young players that are willing to listen to him, does well, but lack of rotation threwout the season and the fact he has fell out with Maddison is the reason they are running out of steam for the second year running

All my opinion

But thats why he's a fraud, if he comes here, we will probably pay a record fee for a manager to get him out his contract, and he will be gone within 2 years of being here
