It was mixed. I didn't see him in that way and lots of others didn't either. I'd take him back if he wanted to be here, because he was one of the best midfielders in the league for many years. I'd take him back depending on his motivation though. If he didn't really want it, then I wouldn't... was only wondering about it in the context of Conte, because he's just won a title under Conte this season...
He was fucking useless for ages.
Stats vs rivals are unreliable. He played almost every minute of every game, was the only creative player in the side and was teeing up Kane.

Hardly need a DoF when his old club is in financial ruin and have just won the league:

................Lloris
Hakimi Toby Bastoni Reguilon
...............Hoijberg
.........Tanguy Barella
Perisic.....................Son
.................Kane

What's gets you so excited about the DoF?

He's overseen Juve fall season over the season in the CL whilst putting all the Clubs eggs into one basket to bring in Ronaldo with the specific target of winning CL. Who hired Pirlo and has seen them finish 4th (1st time they've not won in 10yrs) 13 points behind the leaders.

Conte is a top manager but I think he's the worst fit for Spurs than 80% of those listed in the poll.

I haven't read about the hiring so I could be wrong, but to me that seemed like a higher up hiring than him, ie Agnelli. It wasn't a move that fit with anything in his history, he didn't have a connection to Pirlo, but the club did.

I could be totally wrong, but since it doesn't line up with his past and it makes much more sense that the higher ups with relationships with Pirlo would want it more that it wasn't really his choice.

If you want to know whether Conte would be a good idea, take a look at rival fan forums and see if they're shitting themselves about it.
:ledley:
With our new ground, and Conte to manage us, we just need about 6 new quality players and we're as good as the others. Make that 5 if Kane remains. RB CBx2 MF x2 and CF if Kane goes. Bearing in mind we still have Skip and Seggerson (if I could spell his name).

Amazing how so many refuse to believe any good news, but as soon as bad news is mentioned they instantly believe it all.

Conte's representatives would have asked for more than what the actually expect.

Levy would have offered less than he is actually prepared to pay.

Both parties will negotiate to middle ground where both are happy.

It's standard business that every manager and club will do daily.

If it is £3m difference, they'll settle on 1.5/2m
No, no. no mate. Just let them all get angry at everything. Page after fucking page in every fucking thread.
