Yep. He shouldn’t be swanning around the training ground. It seems to have been something that Poch encouraged reading his book but things need to change. There’s no reason he needs to be there at all.

I think abramovich used to do it at Chelsea at the start but for numerous, not just footballing reasons, he’s no longer involved as much face to face.
I agree. By trying to be the players mate he is marginalising and undermining the manager. Look at Rose in the documentary saying 'i'm going to see Daniel'. The players shouldn't really have much contact with him at all and i'm sure its partly why we find it so difficult to sell our rubbish. Its why a DOF is so important.

I still think Levy will deliver us the double.
Rangnick as DOF
Potter as manager

No need to wake me up from this dream thanks

I think sexual intercourse is in order, Gilbert

Just read an interview with the Red Bull Salzburg sporting director about hiring new coaches (because theirs often leave for the german Bundesliga). For them it mostly works out very well. There he explained how they watch potential coaches for a long time and want a certain playing philosophy (agressive, fast, attacking) so you could recognize the team even without shirts or players faces. That way only take coaches who buy into this idea and also played that way in other clubs with great player coherence would be considered. They and also buy players who have quick thinking to fit the system. Comparing this to our approach its like night and day.

Im not going next season if we go to big games hoping to maybe scrape a draw or damage limitation. Had all that shit in 90s. Should be top 4 expectancy every season not swirling in mediocrity.
The only Manager to take that approach in big games (and others like Palace, Wolves, Fulham, Norwich etc) for over a decade has been Mourinho. The only two managers in over a decade that have not enabled a top 4 challenging season has been Sherwood & Mourinho, Jose achieved this TWO seasons running.

And yet the "expectancy" that came with him from the vast majority of Supporters and HIMSELF was a title challenge.

So, what makes the expectation? The reputation of a bullshitter, washed up has been or a competent manager that has a team playing better than the sum of their parts?

That is what Brighton are trying to emulate.

I am not going to lose my marbles if we go for Rodgers. I don't care about his veneers or trannies or what he did at Liverpool. In terms of the football he has got Leicester playing, I have several concerns, however. They are essentially a counter-attacking team. They have trouble playing though a high press. They have trouble breaking down teams that sit deep. They are flaky without the ball. Maybe Rodgers is good at improving individual players. But as a collective, I see what appears to me to be a half-baked product.

Am I really seeing people turning their nose up at Rodgers?

We are in no position to be picky.. The club is in a mess. Rodgers has Leicester above us again, in a cup final and bought through/helped develop further some very good players who would walk into our team.

Yet people are suggesting Benitez? Fuck me no wonder we're seen as a joke.

Absolutely crazy times. If we can get Rodgers (and I can't see why he'd want to leave Leicester at this stage in his project there), then we should go balls deep for him.
