The amount of time this is taking all points to Poch. I'm sure we know what it takes to get ten Hag out of his Ajax contract at this point. Conte is there for free and could just sign now.

Poch is the one that is complicated. With it taking this much time, seems clear he's our first choice.

I personally wish we had announced ten Hag day after the season, but I'll be very happy with Poch if it can get done.

Is Poch complicated?

We should know if he wants to come and if he does then there is a 20m compensation buy out. Is it more complicated than that?

If he is unsure about whether he wants to come then move on, waiting for him to make a decision is silly. If he has demands either meet them or pass and move on.

Levy has fucked it, even if we get Conte the time this has taken has already left a bad taste in the mouth.
This is a pretty ridiculous position. If you really want to nail a hiring like this, you need to take the time to do proper due diligence and talk to people. The tension that shite reporting might be generating among the fans is exactly what the club should ignore. Spurs fans are pretty clueless muppets who couldn't spot a decent manager if one walked up and kicked them in the family jewels. Most were against Pochettino when he was announced because he wasn't famous enough, and people are carrying on about "proven winners" and "signs of intent" now. Look, we went down that road with Mourinho. It was shit.

If that's what the fans want then the fans should emphatically not be given it.

Just lol if you think Conte is going to wait for Levy to generate money by selling players at the usual snail pace.

Why would the Juve guy leave with Conte. They don't follow each other everywhere. If he does a good job here and is happy and Levy happy with him then he will stay even if Conte leaves

Because the only interest we have in him is to work with Conte. If Conte doesn't come he is not coming.

I guess it is possible that he does such a good job here that Levy wants to keep him after sacking Conte but that seems to be unlikely.

I don't see how he fits with the spiel about a manager in keeping with our traditions etc. All that points to Poch or a relatively inexperienced manager with a reputation for good football e.g. Potter.

Conte seems the exact opposite of what they were looking for in that statement. A proven winner but much more like Jose than any other candidate out there.
Then the thought process behind that statement is the problem and why we'll be a mid table team for the forthcoming years. This isn't the right time to take a gamble with someone who is either not tested at our level or is wrapped up in a contract that might and might well not happen for us.

The other managers that fit that statement Potter Lampard Parker etc etc.... who we'd rather have than someone who is currently one of the best club managers in the word, and we. slide.

I want Conte screaming at these lazy fkers from the touchline and kicking over whatever is within reach of his tiny feet, I don't want to see anymore of this ''there there, it's all okay, I'll be clapping when we string 5 passes together'' . If it's too difficult to get Poch now, walk away.

I think Levy will go against every single thing he said in that statement if he thinks that Conte can bring him CL football money.

That statement was a pure PR piece used to appease the fans, I doubt Levy even thinks about it when thinking about a new manager.

I have no doubt that come the end of the transfer window and minimal business done to improve the squad , the usual apologists will be at the ready with the same old tired excuses including the nugget that we didn't have much time to sign the players that the manager wanted while conveniently failing to mention that the club has taken an absolute age to make the decision on the manager

They just signed Alaba from Bayern on a free transfer so that's left back sorted with Mendy and Marcelo still at the club. They won't be buying Reguilon back

They sold Morata to Juve then bought him back for a year before doubling their money selling him to Chelsea.
They'll be looking at Reguilon as to whether or not they can buy him back and then make more for him in the future.
We paid what, 30m?
Buy back for 35-40m and sell on for 50+ if he comes good.
I think it's OK this year, its next year we may have an issue.

Gold in his live chat on the manager:

Mauricio Pochettino is the top choice but how gettable he is depends on whether the Argentine makes a real push to get out of PSG and also his relationship with Leonardo will define matters. Tottenham aren't giving up yet but they can't hang around forever. I know Erik ten Hag is another manager Spurs really like and Antonio Conte will certainly be an attractive option. He's a terrific manager and available without compensation, but the question for Spurs would be just how much he can achieve without the huge financial backing he's had elsewhere. We can all dream, but the reality is that he won't get those hundreds of millions to spend at Tottenham and if that's the case how frustrated would he get and how quickly? Conte's average is about two years at each club and that's with a lot of money to shape his teams how he wanted them. He left Inter because they couldn't financially back him any more. I think he's one of the best managers in the world but would he and this current Tottenham be a good fit without the proper funding?

If he wins us the PL and FA Cup in two seasons who gives a fuck when he goes?

He won thirty games for Chelsea in a season (a PL record) three consecutive MOM awards (another first) and his team scored a record number of goals, and won thirteen games on the trot, another PL record.

Why the fuck Levy is still fucking about with a manager who won us fuck all is beyond comprehension.

That's what I meant, they won't be buying him back this summer because they are well covered in that position
