And thus the Redknapp debate begins again...
Who's Ade in this scenario then?
Can't see it mirrors how the Soldado debate went down anyway, considering Poch has done more positive for us than Soldado ever will.
In which way are we performing worse? We're on course to finish in the same league position, with the 4/5 of the teams that finished above us last year above us this year, with united and Everton swapping, which was fairly predictable. United were going to spend big to get champions league and everton were likely to drop off because of the increased games.
Points wise, as has been mentioned, we're heading for slightly less. However, that isn't necessarily our fault. Points totals are a result of the strength of all 20 teams in the league. if the bottom 8 teams are shit, there will be more points in the top half of the league. If the teams in the league are more equal, there will be more draws, which result in less points being available. The points themselves aren't relevant, its the position those points put you in the table.
Game wise, last season didn't we lose every single game against the top 4? This season we've beaten Woolwich twice, chelsea and drew with united. We also matched city and were unlucky not to win.
To be honest, i don't really get your comment. For several reasons. Because another team is doing better last season that reflects badly on us?? But we're still above them?? If we were worse, Southampton would be above us? Because we'd be lower than 6th? We are exactly where we should be in the league as well, so we're not under performing, we're exactly par. And what was last seasons echo of glory? A lairy manager alienating players to the point that it was quite clear some of them didn't care and weren't giving 100% ? How short is your memory. Have you forgotten how many mistakes that led to goals there were last season? We were the worst in europe for it. That comes from the players not caring, and that comes from the manager. Have you forgotten the 4-0 against chelsea? With walker on the right wing? Jan Vertonghen falling over?
Mate. Just give up.
You're a fraud.
Im getting at the preachers who talk about how a manager needs time and patience while they were happy to call for the last managers head from his first day in the job.
The same preachers saying how much the players need backing when it was Soldado, but happy to insult Adebayor.
Same cunts who were slating Bentaleb last season because Holtby deserved to start........

Hilarious that the last few seasons we've been trying to beat Woolwich to 4th, finished above Liverpool a few times and Chelsea once, and even had an eye on Utd.
Now Southampton are our rivals and we should be pleased because we are just about keeping them in 7th
Football is forever evolving - neither Sherwood or Bentaleb were ready for the roles they were in last season......just as the fan base should and did give Soldado time
Bentaleb is what he is today because he played half a season last year
If they get Europa we'll finish a good distance above them next season.
Again, I dont see that as a major target of ours. The manager has said in no uncertain terms that we are aiming for CL football next season.
There are far better teams than Southampton we need to be finishing above for that to happen.
Well the negative effect on PL form that Liverpool and Everton have suffered this season from playing in Europe could quite easily hit Man Utd next......
We haven't really got that much ground to make up.
Most goals come from errors, thats the nature of football. But last season we conceded the most goals (18) from individual errors. Things like Jan slipping over, sloppy backpasses etc. We have improved on that.Mate, we have the worst defence except the bottom clubs. Plenty of those silly mistakes have still happened and its woeful at the back more often than not. Also, have you forgotten the 3-0, 3-0, 3-0 and 4-1 losses to Chelski, United, Scousers and City?? All we've done is save a goal or two in those defeats and ship them in other games, leaving us worse off overall with points!
The difference is that Man U could be lining up with the likes of Bale and Lloris next season, and they will strengthen in ways we can only dream about.
We punched above our weight signing Hugo...we havent delivered. It wont be happening again any time soon for us, certainly not this summer.
Strongest line-up 2011/12
Friedel
Walker Dawson King Assou Ekotto
Parker Modric
Lennon van der Vaart Bale
Adebayor
Redknapp should have done better with that team.
Strongest line-up 2014/15
Lloris
Walker Fazio Vertonghen Rose
Mason Bentaleb
Lamella Eriksen Chadli
Kane
I'd say Pochettino is doing about as well as you'd expect with these players.
