While I agree with mostly everything you said, I think WH are actually quite good now. If we go back to the start of January, which is when they turned it around, they are 7th in the table. If they had employed Nuno before Potter, they would be fighting for a European place this season. Crazy turnaround! Cunts.
Wow, didn't realise their form was quite that good. Shows the strength of the league tbh - even Wolves had decent underlying numbers when they had their abysmal start. Just lacked killer instinct in front of goal, otherwise they weren't a bad team and have done OK under Rob Edwards

I think Burnley are the only truly poor team in the league (well...apart from us) and even they've had their moments. Far better than many, many other relegation teams over recent years.

At minimum, if we match Leeds' pace and beat them in a few weeks, they'll be below us.

Wonder what the fire sale will look like and how quickly it'll happen.

Vicario £15m
Udogie £15m
Romero £45m
Porro £20m
Spence £10m
VdV £35m
Simons £anything
Gallagher £25m
Bentancur £25m
Sarr £20m
Richarlison £20m
Tel £20m
Solanke £30m

Some of those are priced to shift, some are slightly over valued.
I've left Madison, Kulusevski, Kudus, and Odobert off because they're injured. Either they'll still be injured so unsellable or could do us a favour and hang around.
Kept Danso and Dragusin in as we're selling our 2 main CB's.
Kept Souza in as he's a kid. Loans cancelled.
Davies and Bissouma on a free.
Not sure what Gray and Bergvall will do/want.

So then we will have to buy almost an entire squad for the championship in one window.
Lange.
And Vinnai.
Buy a whole squad.
In one window.

I think we need 10 points from these last 6 games.

Having collected 5 points from our last 14 it feels like a big ask, I’m thinking we might scramble a point from either Villa or Chelsea away, which means winning 3 of these
H) Brighton
A)Wolves
H)Leeds
H)Everton

Fuck me Brighton is huge, absolutely massive, this feeling tension through my whole body stuff everyday is horrid.

We need something big to swing the momentum. We can't keep getting rode by the referees every week. We can't win like this. Right now we just need the wind to change. A soft penalty or the other team to get a red card. A lucky win! That's the only way we can win atm! But I genuinely believe one win would change everything! It would swing the momentum snd give the players the confidence to play better and win more games. But the longer we go without this win the harder it gets.

We can't just sit back and let the referees do this. We need to work together to influence them. We need some luck. It's the only chance we have at survival. That first win is going to need luck and need a referee who favours us and not the opposition! No more letting the other team laugh and joke with the ref. We boo the living daylights out of that nonsense. We have to do our bit now. Boo boo and boo the ref every call that goes against us - a chorus of boos. It's our last hope. We need some luck. We need to catch a break. Anything that can change the momentum.

Go to the game this weekend and boo every single decision that goes brightons way. Make the place he'll for the referee and make him think twice every time he's a big decision to make. Any fans on here playing down this suggestion are just defeatist and have given up or are just happy to accept defeat and blame everyone at the club. But this can make a small difference and right now we need to do everything in our power to come out of this.

Rally this weekend. Boo that referee. One win could become 3 wins! We just need that first win! Nearly all our games are really tight and decided by fine margins. We need to do everything we can to get those fine margins. One win changes everything. Don't let anyone on here tell you otherwise - they are part of the problem!

We'll get a lot more for some of those players, especially the ones who get sold later in the window when we've already generated enough to make up some of the lost broadcasting revenue. Romero and VDV are both £50m players, and there'll be multiple clubs in for them.

Our main goal should be holding on to Bergvall, Gray, and Vuskovic in addition to all the promising academy players. Everyone else can piss off.

We'll beat Chelsea for once, maybe get a point at Wolves. And then relegated.

Because Spurs.

We haven't won since before Christmas i think.
That's 4 months, the team has forgotten how to win and has no confidence.
I have no confidence that they can or will pull themselves out of the shit.
They are getting worse week by week.

Yeah confidence is dead and players have given up. We need the referees to give us a big decision to win a game right now. I do think one win could change everything and give us confidence and momentum.

We need to do our best to influence the referee this weekend. It's our only hope.

Romero and VdV have had horrible seasons where both have made themselves look average/liabilities multiple times.

Relegated clubs have sold their best players for relatively high fees in recent years. Maddison, Lavia, Harvey Barnes, Butter, Omari Hutchinson, etc., all went for €40m+ the summer after relegation. Romero and VDV are established internationals; they'll both get at least £50m.

It's not a strong league of quality but one of relative mediocrity.

2/3 top players in our squad and we would be top 5.

What we have failed to see is the cohesion, philosophy of play, and any single player hitting the heights.

The Brentford striker compared this season to our 3. Even Wellbeck.

Our midfielders - nobody.

Defenders - don't make me laugh.

Vicario - no idea which one turns up.

Let's not kid ourselves that we are likely going down due to the quality of the league, as opposed to its equality of squad strength so to speak, due to its lack of star players.

The big surprise, and why he might deserve and get a top job is Bournemouth. Sold Semenyo and have been superb since. Great response.

Look for example at Newcastle. They spent a fair bit on Elanga. Wissa and Woltenade. The truth is that between the 3 of them they have disappointed. Their sole difference from us is probably that Guimares, unlike was fit for a long time up to his injury.

We have just got on the kind of run that nobody in the PLcould have foreseen or probably believe.

Losing Msddison, Kulusevski, Kudus selling Johnson (without PL-proven quality replacements) has screwed us over, as well as our strikeforce being really poor this season.

Add in the disruptive duo of Van De Ven and Romero is it any surprise where we are.

A win will do wonders for confidence and belief.
Again though, can we beat Brighton?
If we played against cardboard cut outs they would probably lose.

I think it's the worst batch of 'top' teams in a long time. Most of the top 5-6 teams are undercooked/flaky and I don't think there's a single truly great team in the entire division. However, I think the average'quality of the league is higher than it's ever been. The mid-table teams, while also individually flawed, have better coaches, better recruitment and better overall squads than at any point in PL history.

It's about the least watchable the league has been in a long time and lacks genuine star quality, but I think it's the most competitive PL ever. Most teams are stocked with athletes, are well-drilled, tactically astute and have reasonable depth.

This is one of the many, many reasons we're in this mess. We could've got away with this the past 2 seasons, but I think it will take 40+ points to survive this year - the highest in decades.

I think and hope about getting a result in the next game, but that hope is always replaced with despair afterwards.
The next game always seems to come with a defeat. In the end we will run out of games. I personally think the loosing mentality with the players came with Ange in the premier league, it seemed like it was accepted that the league did not matter. And, here we are with the same group of players, who will just move on and probably show they are better players elsewhere. It is a sad situation where i really dont care who leaves anymore. Every post currently, including mine, could be filed under "doom and gloom" but whatever the outcome at the end of the season, there has to be change, but as supporters all we can hope for is for the clowns to be evicted and replaced with humans who know what they are doing.

The answer to your comment is the top 5/6 teams are as you say, not as good.

That translates to less points against the so-called mid range teams. I'm not sure I would call that PL strength as such as opposed to a lack of top quality at the top end, hence more dropped points and table stacking.

Put it this way, because this could be a circle of discussion. I don't think there is one player on their season's performance who gets into a best PL, even if you just base it on a best season for a player.

I think strength and quality are a bit of an illusion.

More than 40 points to stay up? Only if one presumes we get close to 38/39, which right now is a quantum leap to the far side of the moon..
