Lovely pick!
Don't specifically recall that game but would 100% be there. I can also tell you the main events of the day.
1. Play footy in the morning with school
2. leg it back home chuck kit on floor fly out the house to get to WHL by bike (tell old man I'm going to mates house)
3. Make it to WHL, 2hrs before KO
4. Head to the Shelf, front row, buzzing, excellent view.
5. Hour before KO, still buzzing ground beginning to fill up now
6. Half an hour to KO, start to shit myself proper lads turning up, starting to feel I don't belong
7. Prop my heels up on the step behind me, makes me look 4 inches taller, still shitting it
8. Still getting looks, now being jostled out of my front row spot, squeezed like a blackhead spot
9. 15mins till KO, can't see a fucking thing, now 5 rows back, definitely don't belong
10. leg it down to the lower section, the corner (next to the Paxton) has big gaps in.
11. Still can't see, fuck it game starts
12. Settle into a view of the pitch no more than 20 square meters between the shoulders of those in front, calves burning as I'm on tiptoes.
13. Little skirmishes breaking out behind me, most people are craning their necks at this than the game
14. Trying my hardest to learn the songs, snigger at swear words, by 2nd half, I'm singing swear words and feeling well hard.
15. Game over, can't wait to not see another game next week.

Pure Addiction.

A huge thanks to all that have posted pictures on this thread. Using many of the images I have created a book on Photobox.co.uk for my dad who is 93 this Jan 1. He was born less than 400m from the stadium in 1929, I have therefore used images spanning from then to modern day. I also searched out images of Tottenham (the place) including some great ones of the VE Day street parties that him and my mum will have been at. A lifelong Spurs fan I am sure he will love seeing pictures of some of his old favourites like Ted Ditchburn, Bobby Smith, Greaves Mackay etc
Thanks again

I know it's not even 24 hours old... so wouldn't really qualify as 'retro'... but it has all the hallmarks of a classic... It could've been taken at any time during our 118 White Hart Lane History... So i'm putting it in!

Bardi Bardi ...I hear this is yours? Take a bow son! (and as others have suggested) get it Copyrighted/written SOON! You could probably retire on this one!

Jimmy Dimmock.
Didn't know where to put this post, and this seemed a good a place as any.
On a tour of the Scottish Highlands and one of the group is an elderly gentleman called Elwyn Hughes. He was scouted by Spurs when playing for Welsh Schoolboys. He came to North London at the age of 17 around 1954. Unfortunately he never played for the First Team, but was happy that he managed to play at the big grounds at that time. He realised he wasn't going to make it and packed up after three years.
He named Tommy Harmer and Ted Ditchburn as his favourite players at the time he was there.
He seemed genuinely perplexed that I was interested in his story, but I think happy enough to share.
