Ritch Groves had fallen out of love with Spurs, the off-field antics and sacking of Martin Jol had finally broken him, then one day in a League Cup match, a local lad stepped up. Ryan Mason, the serial loanee reminded Ritch what it was to love Spurs. From that moment on, he had his Tottenham back.

It's everything we had with Jol... but so, so much more!

Let's Go to Work!

Hope he starts getting a pundit gig or two. James Taylor had to retire from cricket at a similar age and has been on TMS a few times. Got a lot to say about the game. I expect that Ryan would be a great addition to a media team.

Very sad to hear. Hope we are all over this in some capacity, get him on the coaching team (if he's any good).

EDIT: Let's spank Chelsea for him when we go to Stamford Bridge, target the Cahill with studs up and elbows swinging.

Always had time for Mason, gave his all, despite not always having the quality we would have liked. Who knows where his career may have gone if it wasn't for this.

Would love to see him get a testimonial at Spurs (non contact).

Gutted to hear the news. Poch was always a big fan of his so hopefully Spurs are able to offer him a role within the club.

Thanks for the memories, Ryan.

There is a very tantalising game that can be played for our first non-competitive match at the New Stadium. So many players left on the verge of 10 years or were at the club for ages. Team could be made up of Lennon, Dawson, Huddlestone, Mason, Asso-Ekotto, Defoe (bet he retires in summer), VdV, then whilst it's difficult as they will no doubt be still playing for other clubs but Walker, Carroll, Townsend, Sandro, Livermore, Gomes, Bale & Smith.

Regardless, should do something for Mason, Dawson, Lennon and Huddlestone, Defoe & BAE

Sad news. Hope Ryan Mason is blessed with happier days in the years ahead. Never let us down in my view and very much one of our own.

Good luck. And hopefully some of the travelling band can make a banner or statement for him on Sunday.

As for Gary Cahill. He’s a disgrace. The “accident” thing he can try to hide behind. But he flew in with little real regard for the opponent. And behaved like a wanker when he scored later In the same match.

I believe this was brought up ages ago through the Trust regarding a testimonial for Dawson, and the club said that these days it's nearly impossible to arrange for players still at other clubs due to image right agreements. So assuming none of the others retire, I think it would have to be a testimonial for Mason with those players (possibly excluding BAE due to the alleged anti-Semitism stuff) invited to take part, which would be absolutely fantastic.

What an absolute shit bit of news. So sorry for the guy, with so many years of his playing career ahead of him.

With that work ethic, there HAS to be a place for him at Spurs. Would love to see him involved with the Academy in some capacity.

Paul Coyte to chat with him HT on the pitch Juve home? 80,000 singing "One Ryan Mason" would be just awesome.

Dreadful news. I think it was always the likely outcome after that cunt Cahill smashed him into next week. Shocking injury, but at least he will get to see his kids grow up etc. So whilst it’s awful, every cloud has a silver lining.
Get him back into the fold in some capacity. Maybe Scott Parker needs an assistant?
Would love him to be back at Spurs.
