Just listened to the pod and there was an implication that Woolwich had never been relegated.

Woolwich were relegated in the 1912/13 season. I recall a lie that was perpetuated by Scum fans that they were the only top flight team to never have been relegated, and before the likes of the internet, search engines, Wikipedia etc, this misinformation was allowed to flourish. It’s just like the other mistruth about them being the first team to finish a season undefeated, when we all know that accolade belongs to Preston North End.

The last top flight team to have never been relegated (until they were) was Coventry City, unless you count the more recent, and more short-lived, runs of Wigan Athletic and Reading.
