Carpe Diem
Talking this evening in the pub and a couple of us suddenly realised that next season will mark 60/61 years since the 60/61 Double season.
Such an occasion warrants celebrating , especially for those of us who were actually alive at the time. So plans are to be made for a trip over and an anniversary party weekend. Really looking forward to it already.
:coys:
Maybe the club will have something planned too.

Certainly should be celebrated

The first double in the 20th century was astonishing at the time, arguably easier ever since especially with the amount of money poured into clubs achieving similar. But considered impossible at the time.

Something theFA should also be celebrating

What Spurs should be doing ? A celebratory match but what else ? And against whom ?

Most of the players who achieved THE double of all time are sadly dead. So how to celebrate their lives ?

I just think it's quite special being 60/61 years ago which matches the years of the season it was done...some sort of memorial unveiling at the new ground to that double winning side would be nice.
Let's hope Cliff Jones would be able to attend

Maybe have their names all around the stadium all season, such as Woolwich have with their trophies ?
Pictures of the players everywhere, videos on the big screens before, at half time and after the game ?

Not enough IMO but it is hard to see a really approppiate tribute.

All it does is remind us how long it’s been since major domestic honours; I get enough reminders from the Islington loud mouths thanks.

Let's hope José gives us good reason to celebrate this very special anniversary next season.
Do hope the club organise something, I'd definitely try to get back for that.
