Inzaghi would be very interesting. I maintain our team is suited to 5 back football, its just people collectively decided 5 backs were bad.
I honestly think if you offered most managers who prioritise a back 3/5, whether it be Inzaghi, Amorim, hell even Tuchel, the option of having a starting back line of Dragusin/Romero/Van De Ven with Porro and Udogie as wing backs. They'd be ecstatic and would see it as a strong starting point to build a top team. That's not me letting the club off the hook, there's still a lot of work needed to be done on the squad regarding investment. But on paper that 5 would be a really good starting point.

Hypthetically ( adverb ) : Definition : Imagining a possibility rather than a reality .

Doesn’t the current incumbent already tick those boxes ? (Genuine question) .

Thus , I vote for an apology and an îmmediate re -hire .

Just putting it out there for consideration and measured debate .

the new manager will need to fit the profile of TFC members desires

- tactically as flexible as a cats spine but also with a clear unbending relentless vision.

- hard on the player but also a really nice guy both a total cunt and an absolute great bloke.

- experienced in a top league but still new and with fresh ideas. So both 35 years old but also 60 years old at the same time.

- a short term type guy but also someone for the long term

- attack minded but also defensive as well

- British proper working class geezer but also foreign and exotic.

- able to kick Levy’s butt but also get on with him.

This is the man for the job.

Isnt happening this summer so we'll have to see what happens. If it does go pear shaped early next season all depends who is available and who Levy doesnt have to pay much if any compo for. Oh christ just remembered Southgate might be around ....

That is fine we can buy Maguire, Henderson and Mason Mount. Won’t take too many risks, although could flirt with relegation quite a lot.

On a more serious note :

Peter Shreeves is currently available, he’s filled in before ( I’m not seriously suggesting a six year deal ( but that’s up to Daniel) .) . He knows the club and wouldn’t break the bank salary-wise .

To reiterate ; He’d be short- term
( he’s filled in before) ,

(Before I get to much abuse ) It would be short-term , say again short-term. Then :

The Ipswich gaffer seems to know what he’s doing ( back to back promotions ) and with the club owned by an investment company :

14 successive defeats in the Prem come the second international break ; he’ll get the Spanish Archer ; then he’s ours .

Shreeves’ work is done - he’s away ( until the next time Daniel summons him up .

Trust me I’ve seen stranger things happen

If you think I’m not thinking things through

I also hypothesised about ;

Barton : could prove unpopular with a section of the supporter-base . And also unproven at top level . Campbell : ditto .

Ossie : work-permit issues . Ginola : ditto . Arsène Wenger : ditto.

. Jock Stein ( think previous success at Celtic) : no longer with us . The late Queen : inspirational and “ a proven leader “ but ditto .

So you can see I’m not just shooting from the hip .

A et F .
