So, didn't watch the whole thing but just had the livestream of training on in the background during breakfast.
- most of the ball work I saw was based around playing out from the back, with the opposition playing a counter press. Some player notes:
Fagan Walcott always impresses me as a modern cb with good comfort receiving and passing the ball. Interested to see how he does on loan, possibly never our level but he's a talented player. Charlie Sawyer also looks decent.
Pape Sarr wasn't really prioritised, poor lad was shafted out at LWB or else out of the drill with the four you'd expect taking up 95% of the cm minutes. Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Skipp all strong and sharp. None of the wingbacks were particularly good or bad. Gil was bright but his finishing wasn't great. Richarlison finished every chance he got.
After this, Ventrone ran them into the ground. Taking into account the heat, they did 10+ sets of three pitch-lengths at about a 70-75% running pace. Gil, Sarr, Sanchez and Parrot the three strongest probably. Kane, Son, Hojbjerg, Bissouma finished up early, the first two were shattered. Take into account they play 90mins 60+ times per year when you incl club and country. Tanganga ran separate to the rest, just back from surgery I guess. Really wish Ndombele was included on the tour, I'd pay any money to watch him run that drill. Perisic and Kulusevski not involved.
