A lot of hindsight merchants on here in regards to the injuries. If Romero doesn't go off injured after 12 mins then VDV gets subbed as planned on 70 mins for Radu. It was a horrible knock on effect. Same with Spence getting banned so Udogie had to play 2 games in 3 days. We don't have the depth to deal with injuries and we've been absolutely decimated. Ange basically had no choice but to play Ben Davies every sigle game until he broke down too. We don't have the options.

Thats why I'm at the stage where I'd nearly like to see us just throwing league games at this stage and playing kids like dorrington and Lankshear just so we don't end up with more injuries! I'd happily throw the Newcastle game tomorrow. Blame Ange all you like but its horrific bad luck and a knock on effect where he is under pressure to win every game, but only has 3 fit defenders most week and has to overplay them

Ange is a shit manager but Levy is to blame for lack of squad.

Paul Okeefe said Levy has lowered the wage bill since Kane Lloris and Perisic left.

It’s not just bad luck. Ange’s methods lead to injuries. He has admitted and accepted this. We don’t have very good depth in terms of quality but there are plenty of players he has chosen to ignore.

Udogie has been shite all season yet he’s played an insane number of minutes and had multiple injuries. That’s after missing pre-season as he recovered from an operation. Meanwhile Spence and Reguilon are completely ignored. Is that just bad luck? That’s just a manager choosing to flog a struggling player to death rather than use a player he didn’t really want to keep.

I don’t think Ange is “a shit manager” but I do think he is likely not good enough for the EPL. He hasn’t been helped by injuries, he hasn’t helped himself either in that regard.

I can’t see past a defeat tomorrow as Ange has proved he won’t change the way we play and they will pick us off pretty easily I’d think. Isak to get a brace. 1-3 I reckon but as always, hope I’m entirely wrong

Yeah thats the club model. Lowering the age and wage bill and let Ange be the guinea pig who takes the hit for when it all goes wrong. They'd hoped the attacking football might keep the fans sweet but its not working anymore so they'll probably have to sack Ange soon. But same problems will persist and the next manager will be in the same situation in 12 months

There is no reason to ever go against medical advise.

Fuck me Romero VDV and Davies now end of Jan apparently….

Ridiculous club

“We’ve had an illness bug running through the squad so a few have missed training.”

🗣️“Destiny his hamstring, looks around 6 weeks for him. We lose Bentancur suspended. None of the injured ones are back yet.“

🗣️”At this stage Richy and Mikey Moore are the next cabs off the rank, we're hoping next week.”

🗣️”Ben, Micky and Romero all kind of around the same time, back end of January.”

They’re probably waiting for him to get sacked so they don’t have to come back and get injured again!

Ange Postecoglou hopes Cristian Romero is nearly over the toe and hamstring problems which have hampered the Argentine in recent weeks but says Tottenham will give the defender time to return to 100 per cent fitness.

"With us, he hasn’t been fully fit for probably two or three weeks," Postecoglou said. "He’s kind of soldiered on through it because that is the kind of character [he is] … and we kind of needed him but I think when he went away, he kind of realised, this is not healing the way we want it to.

"It’s a couple of separate issues. And I spoke to him and said: ‘Look, just have a break. We need you 100 per cent fit.’ As much as we’d love to have him out there, I think it’s best for him he gets totally over everything. He had the birth of his daughter this week as well which is also a significant event in his life.

"One was obviously the knock on his toe which has been a bit troublesome and prior to that he had a bit of a tight hamstring," Postecoglou added.

Here Ange literally admits that he selected him knowing he wasn’t fit which made the problems worse.
You're fighting a losing battle with Richard Arlison Richard Arlison mate.

Only a few days ago he argued that Romero's and Richarlisons Injuries were not hamstring related depiste the manager saying they were.

The guy already stated the VDV injury was a stupid decision by Ange but is now saying something completley different. He's even ignoring what the actual MEDICAL TEAM advised.

There's now loads more seats available on the exchange. Well over 2,000 in the south. Must be 3-4k around the stadium.

Of course many of those will turn up if they can't offload them (I would have), but it doesn't look good.

He's responsible for a lot of injuries with his stupid system.
Nothing to do with bad luck imo...

the previous poster just mentioned Ange admitting himself he played him(VDV) longer then the medical team advised....why are you changing your tune regarding this now? have a look at your posts when it happened...you literally stated Ange was wrong for selecting VDV and he takes blame for that (whilst he takes no blame for Romero).
Like I said, I was wrong. I reacted without all the information that went into the decision. I still don’t have all the information. All I have is the outcome which was frustrating, I’m not going continue infantilising myself by pretending I know what decision should have been made and throwing my toys out of the pram because it wasn’t.

Mason may have to wear a medieval helmet and help out in midfield.
Dele Alli on a short term contract has plenty to play for especially with Tuchel watching.
Chirpy is a unit and can play up top as a target man/chicken to give Solanke a rest.
The under 15s can fill up any remaining gaps.

3-1 Spurs. Chirpy hatrick.

I didn’t know about the hamstring issue before the toe but if you think players aren’t playing through knocks in every PL at this time of year then you don’t understand elite Sport.

Imagine the nba if every player who was injured didn’t play in the playoffs…EVERY SINGLE premier league winning team was full of players playing through injuries.

Those quotes from Ange are him evidencing ABNORMAL player care levels. Just like when he took Romero off with that head injury when he wanted to play on. Ange has always been one to err on the side of caution based on his quotes.

Regardless, Romero actually returned AFTER the initial prognosis when he first missed the Argentina games because of his toe. I have no idea what the state of his hamstring was but neither do you. We can only assume he was fit to play because he played. Especially based on those quotes where Ange himself told him to take a longer break to get back to 100%…

I just try thinking instead of just allowing the emotion and frustration of the injuries making me react out of emotion.
