Harvey White makes the first team bench for the first time - versatile player (CM/DM and LB) with great dead ball skills, will be a benefit from this season if White gets a few appearances off the bench in the remaining 9 matches.

Luke Amos partnering former Spur Dominic Ball in central midfield with potentially future Spur Eze playing as an AM.

Past present and future !

We have also agreed to extend the loans of Danny Rose (Newcastle United), Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton), Jack Clarke and Luke Amos (both QPR) Brandon Austin (Viborg) and Armando Shashoua (Atletico Baleares) until the end of their respective league seasons.

Note - nothing comprehensive yet on many players in the Development Squad and Academy Year 2, of whom in the ordinary way circa 10 players might have been expected to leave on conclusion of their contracts on 30 June.

However many of those leaving would, in the ordinary way, have been on trials at other clubs over the last few months which for obvious reasons hasn't happened and some of the lower league clubs may not be in a financial position to offer new contracts. I do wonder whether Spurs (and other PL clubs) will need to offer some players who might have otherwise left, short term contracts to say 31 December (or even for all of next season) to offer a lifeline to youth players - and indeed help out lower league clubs. And with those extra players comes the issue of another team needed to give them all playing time ? All to be revealed in due course I imagine.

Asante (striker) given one year contract.

Has had 2 fairly injury stricken seasons in Academy, so actually still a bit of an unknown, thought he might be a leaver.

I'd like to see him as our 3rd choice next season. Or to get another decent loan.

Yup. He's playing in the championship equivalent of Danish league atm.

Think he would be better off if he got a loan at a Championship club in uk, provided he became no 1 gk there, but could be difficult to get him that type of loan as Viborg is probably not regarded as that much higher than a League 2 loan ?

Problem with 3rd placed gk at Spurs is he'd probably be lucky to play more than 4 or 5 games a season, which would limit his chances to become no 2 gk at Spurs as he'd have so little professional experience.

He's 21 now.

i agree, let him continue his first team run, no matter who it is with. Like any youngster, game time is of supreme importance.

PL also need to make decisions on when is the 'right' time for PL clubs to release 'Retained' and 'Released' player lists, given that player contracts run until 30 June.

Rules used to be 3rd Thursday in June or something like that, but with PL allowing PL players to have short term extensions to the 'end of the 19/20' season (such as Spurs have done with Vertonghen and Vorm), which had to be done by 23 June, surely PL will have to require clubs to release these shortly ?

As I posted earlier, it maybe individual PL clubs themselves or PL as a whole, decide to eliminate or reduce the numbers of youth players released simply because this year the ability of these players to go on trial at other clubs in the last few months of the season has not been possible, and it maybe that many young players have some form of contract extension to increase their chances of finding other clubs - although with many lower league clubs (eg League 2) in dire financial straights and their leagues not restarting until the new season (providing the clubs survive until then) and many EFL players released there are no easy solutions.

But I do think that within the next week PL clubs will need to say something or produce Released and Retained lists.

Decisions, decisions, decisions !
