He's not that great a player in fairness, I've seen a fair share of Gillingham and no doubt he's a solid Championship player, to suggest he'd offer competition to Davies isn't particularly realistic.

Well done to Connor Ogilvie

Was a little surprised when Poch first arrived he didn't take a closer look at him - a LB much in the playing mould of Davies (which might have put Poch off), Ogilvie is a good defender with a wand of a left boot when he gets up the pitch that can certainly damage the opposition whether via an assist or goal. Only real surprise is that he's stayed at Gillingham (no offence to Gillingham) when imo if he decided to, he could play at a higher level.

He had a couple of bad injuries when he was younger. Before those he looked like he could be a first teaser for us.

Yup played 13 times for E u17's which is an indicator that in that age group he was well thought of, but no E youth caps after that suggesting a significant change by E coaches at that time, and that was about the time he went on a series of loans which ended his Spurs career.

looks like he scored more goals in the FA youth cup than Alfie Devine. Exciting stuff.

Story was carried in Mail on July 20th with Spurs and Leeds both apparantly interested.

FYI, McGurk looks to be a versatile prospect, with an ability to play across the forward line. He scored two goals in three games while playing as a right winger in the FA Youth Cup this term. Dob 25 March 2003 so 17 years old.

An excellent insight into the problems that Sunderland have got into with their academy with the loss of a seeming generation of academy prospects.

Whilst League 1 Sunderland may seem a long way down the football pyramid to Spurs there's a lot of familiar stories in this series - from lack of loans to develop players, managers not involving academy youngsters in training enough etc.

Definitely worth a read through the 3 part series.

Worth a read.

JM may well be looking for RB cover alternatives in pre-season with Serge Aurier the only established RB (and possibly leaving) and KWP quite possibly leaving.

Now that Tariq Hinds has left, 19 (20 in October) year old Jubril Okedina who has been playing RB (as well as RCB) for Spurs u23's is probably the obvious candidate for JM to look at in pre-season (along with George Marsh a DM with limited technical skills who can play RB, and the versatile Brooklyn Lyons -Foster a Roll Royce of a defender who possibly is not as physically developed as Okedina) as 17 year old Dermi Lusala who looks the longer term solution is probably not yet ready.

The other candidate could be Jamie Bowden a deep lying DM with great passing (think of Carrick) who can also play RB, again in that 19/20 age group.

....... Young talent in J’neil Bennett who famously scored the first goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be another to keep an eye on, despite missing a chunk of the season through injury the versatile winger scored six goals in 10 games in the Premier League Under-18 campaign.

.....Amos enjoyed a successful season long loan at QPR featuring 34 times in the Championship (transfermarkt) after missing the vast majority of 2018 season with an ACL injury, could this be the season the 23 year old finally has his shot at first team football?
