BTW, u18's may have lined up in an unusual 3-5-2, shape usually 4231 but the players dont look right for that.

Think the players lined up (with wing backs of Lusala and Cassanova, who is a utility player) of :

Lo'Totula,
Lusala, Craig, Paskotsi, Hackett, Cassanova
Devine, John and Santiago
Whittaker, Scarlett
Not sure if OS report will clarify that for us.

A 4231 of this :

Lo'Totula,
Lusala, Craig, Paskotsi, Hackett,
Cassanova, John
Whittaker, Devine, Santiago
Scarlett

just doesn't feel right !

Looks like Lavinier and Omole (on bench) have signed permanantly as they no longer have 'Trialist' after their names as they did last week...

Whiteman has a rare start in goal whilst White and Clarke start, good to see them getting minutes if not playing for the first team (correcting the mistake Poch was making of not allowing youngsters playing time if they trained with first team),

Can only assume Cirkin injured as not seen for a couple of weeks. Maybe Keenan Ferguson as not sen for a couple of weeks since a match report confirmed his signing.

A rare start for Georgiou at LB - wonder if there are scouts from EFL clubs there to see a potential loanee ?

The 22 year old next month Sterling starting again, I hope with a view to a loan as 18 year old (19 in a month) striker Etete really needs to be playing u21 football regularly rather than being on the bench

Worth summarising our recent u21 acquisitions (assuming the lack of 'Triallist' after their names mean they have signed permanantly - Ferguson on a one year contract per OS.

Keenan Ferguson - RB/CB. 20 later this month. Looked very very good as both CB and RB (best player for Spurs on the day), in a streamed match a month ago. Ex Sheffield United.

Marcel Lavinier - RB/CB - 20 in 2 months time. Left Chelsea (rightly) as he saw no future there with Reece James and Tariq Lamptey (now at Brighton) ahead of him.

Tobi Omole - LB/CB/DM - 21 in 2 months time. Formerly with Woolwich

All the above are, I think 6 footers which is the style of fullbacks that JM prefers (and maybe why KWP never stood much chance with JM ?)

It almost seems to be a case of:

Sign three FBs who fit Mourinho's desired characteristics

Hope one of them makes it

I'm sure partly true.

But I think we are genuinely short of quality FB's of a decent size atm - Cirkin (LB), Lusala (RB/CB) are best hopes with players like Okedina (CB/RB) also in the mix.

Change of strategy for sure (as is the signing of the Estonian CB), and I think we will be able to guess a bit more about the strategy either at the end of domestic TW (October 16) or before the end of the season if not during (eg reports of these training with first team or on bench ?)

Here's a list of all the over age players. Window closes on 5/10 but extended EFL window closes on 16/10

Georgiou, Anthony
CCV
Marsh, George
Sterling, Kazaiah
Tracey, Shilow
WHITEMAN Alfie

Alfie Whiteman has been given a squad number and appears on first team squad page of OS - don't ythink he's going anywhere and may well be 3rd GK this season as not enough overseas traned player places to keep Gazzaniga if we sign Skrinia

New signing Maksim Paskotsi marked his debut for our Under-18s with a goal, assist and clean sheet as we continued our unbeaten start to the Under-18 Premier League season with a 3-0 win at home to Fulham on Saturday.

The 17-year-old Estonian centre-back has joined us from Flora Tallinn and made a terrific start at Hotspur Way, setting up Dane Scarlett for our second goal before guiding in a perfect volley to complete the scoring after we’d weathered the Fulham storm for much of the second half.

Lo-Tutala (c), Cassanova (Haysman 83), Hackett, Matthew Craig, Paskotsi, Lusala, Whittaker (Mathurin 75), Devine, Scarlett, John, Santiago (Torraj 83). Substitutes (not used): Solberg, Kyezu.

Think this was Torraj's first minutes for Spurs u18's - Albania u16 winger

Under-23s Coach Wayne Burnett named 19-year-old full-back Marcel Lavinier in our starting line-up while 20-year-old centre-back Tobi Omole appeared off the bench in the second half, both players having signed contracts with our Under-23s until the end of the season.

Both Lavinier and Omole confirmed on one year contracts - same as Keenan Ferguson

Whiteman, Lavinier, Georgiou, White, Okedina (c), Lyons-Foster (Omole 85), Bennett, Richards (Thorpe 69), Sterling (Etete 82), Markanday, Clarke.
Substitutes (not used): Oluwayemi, Pochettino.

One that definitely got away - hope club is now taking the youth set up more seriously

They have always taken it seriously but if a young player wants to leave what can the club do. This lad is doing well at PSV but other highly rated departures like Reo Griffiths who left to Lyon hasn't done much and I see Keenan Bennetts is on loan at Ipswich after struggling in Germany
