Development Squad

Currently Spurs’ under 23 squad for the 2020/21 season is circa 30 players but some may be loaned out (loans to EFL sides can be made until mid October) or play with the first team squad :

GK: Alfie Whiteman (loan?) , Brandon Austin (loan?), Jonathan De Bie, Josh Oluwayemi, Kacper Kurylowicz (Braintree Town trial?)
FB: Dennis Cirkin (First team squad?) , Jubril Okedina (First Team squad?), Keenan Ferguson.
CB: Malachi Fagan-Walcott (could be First Team squad?) , Brooklyn Lyons-Foster.
CM: George Marsh (loan?), Jamie Bowden (First team squad?) , Elliot Thorpe, Rafferty Pedder, Harvey White (First Team squad?), Aaron Skinnner
AM: Anthony Georgiou (loan?), Jack Roles (loan/First Team squad?) Shilow Tracey (loan?), Dilan Markanday, J’Neil Bennett, Jeremie Mukendi, Maurizio Pochettino, Chay Cooper.
FW: Kazaiah Sterling (loan?), Rodel Richards, Kion Etete, Enock Asante.

Already on Loan :
TJ Eyoma (season long loan at Lincoln City),
Troy Parrott (season long loan at Millwall),
Oliver Skipp (season long loan at Norwich City, previously with First Team).

And then there are Academy players who may well play up with Under-21s such as Dermi Lusala (RB/CB) and Nile John (CM/AM) plus maybe the duo who played in pre-season with the first team squad (Dane Scarlett, FW and Alfie Devine, CM).

Just thinking if Austin gets loaned who will play for the U 23s.
Not been impressed by Oluwayemi, Kurlyowitz is trialling with Braintree (?).
Just leaves De Bie and I thought he was also looking to leave.
I haven't seen Lo-Tutala and Solberg who are the Academy options.

By no means well informed on these players, but I've heard that Solberg is meant to have a tonne of potential. Just turned 17 though.

Norwegian goalkeeper Isak Solberg has previously represented FBK Voss, Tromso IL and Byrne FK – even making his senior debut with the latter side in Norway’s third division at the age of 14.
A cross-country skiing district champion in 2013, he has been capped by his country at Under-16 and Under-17 levels.

Making a debut in a mens team, even in 3rd division of Norwegia leagues, at age 14 has to say quite a lot.

Despite not (as far as I can recall) making an appearance for u18's last season - think he was injured for a good part of it - he was awarded a pro contract earlier this summer (usually only done in 2nd year of academy, not the first) , so Spurs obviously seeing a lot of potential in the 6 foot 3 inch tall Solberg

Looking forward to him appearing in Spurs u18's this season

40 Brandon Austin
41 Alfie Whiteman
47 Jack Clarke
48 Harvey White
49 Dennis Cirkin

No CCV, which is a slight surprise, might have something to do with his contract ending in June 2021, but being Club Trained would have thought he would be a good option as a spare defender given the frenatic match schelule - we need a minimum of 4 Club trained players to have a full 25 man squad and have Kane, Winks and presumeably one of gk's Austin or Whiteman so room for CCV as Rose can be assumed to be off ?

Rose and CCV not given squad numbers. Club trained list:

WINKS
KANE
WHITEMAN

Here are the over 21s who could fill the "spare" club trained slot for the EL:

Georgiou, Anthony
Marsh, George
Sterling, Kazaiah
Tracey, Shilow

u18's playing West Ham atm. Looks like a 4231 - one issue resolved Scarlett and Devine are playing u18 football after being with the first team in pre season.

Lo-Tutala,
Cesay, Muir, Matthew Craig, Hackett
Lusala, Devine
Mundle, Santiago, John,
Scarlett

From the line up looks like Cesay is RB with Lusala who's usual position is RB is playing the DM role. Mathew Craig is probably the CB rather than playing a mdfield role due to a shortage of CB's. The midfielders are a bit of a guess as to who is playing where.

Why wouldnt Lusala be the one playing CB?

He could be - no real information to go on.

Lusala usually is RB but can play CB, Matthew Craig usually a DM but can play as a CB ! So the two could be the other way round.

Just to confuse things Cesay who I assume to be RB, has been known to play the DM role so in principle so Lusala could be RB.......

Hackett at LB can also play as CB whilst Cesay can play LB (as well as RB and DM)

Same players but several different line ups possible from those same players.

Nobody there to tell us and OS reports dont always give that info either !

Perhaps I should call my line up 'Illustrative' !

Is Dane Scarlett genuinely meant to be good?

All this time, I thought hype was just over his brilliant name. Or was it Dante Cassanova who is the one hyped up over his name? Can never remember.

Dane Scarlett is the usual main striker for his England year group - so yes he's one of the top prospects in Academy Year 1 - along with Devine, Hackett and probably Mathurine.

Cassanova is half a notch below those, but has played for E u15's so not a bad player

Very talented year group this Academy year 1.
