I think we are a decent back up striker and a starting DM away from actually being a top-4 contender. I think Pochettino's system works when the players are appropriate, and I think that we have a good, young squad which is going to be a lot better this year than last. Bentaleb especially.

I don't care who would, or wouldn't make it into the teams that finished in the top-4 last year. A team is an organic whole. I think ours can be good enough. It will require self-improvement, and will require everyone giving it their all, but we finished 5th last year. This team is not shit. It has flaws, but if those are addressed (and I think they will be) then the team which ravaged Chelsea, comprehensively beat the shit out of Woolwich and stomped all over WBA can be the expected level of performance, week-in and week-out.

Not to mention the fact no-one below us last year have improved their squad significantly to match ours.

jeeeeez, and you're also meant to be a Spurs fan so there's no need to put such a downer on our season before it's even started, if anything we've strengthened by adding what poch wants/needs and shifting all the deadwood.

You have never stated your reasoning for why we will suddenly drop out of the top half of the league? We are returning the same squad with some notable improvements at the back. I have doubts we will finish 5th again but I can't see your logic in seeing us drop down 5 places. Which 5 teams do you see as better than us that we finished above last season.

You can't drop a post like that and not expect to get stick you haven't even made any points or basis for your thoughts it just looks like a wind up.
